The Active&Fit Now Program Offers Gym Memberships for Only $29 per Month and is Open to Every U.S. Resident – Join Soon and the $29 Enrollment Fee is Waived

Update January 2023 – Beginning April 1, 2023, the Active&Fit Now standard program will raise the member fee from $29 to $32 (plus applicable tax).

Active&Fit is waiving the $29 enrollment fee with Code: YOURYEAR at checkout through March 31, 2023. This works on Standard Fitness Network gyms only, not Premium Fitness Network facilities.

We’ve written about the Active&Fit gym membership program a few times over the years. It’s a great deal for only $25 per month (plus tax), providing access to a variety of fitness centers throughout the U.S.

The downside has always been, though, you needed to have access to the Active&Fit program through your health insurance provider, employer, professional association, etc. Although, we wrote about a workaround for those who didn’t have those overt Active&Fit doorways.

Now, however, you can take advantage of the Active&Fit program without worrying about whether or not you have an access option.

The Active&Fit Now program is the same exact plan as Active&Fit Direct except the price is $29 per month rather than $25 (plus tax, of course).

You’ll get access to member gyms (as with the Active&Fit Direct program, you can join and use as many member gyms as you like for the $29 per month price) in your area, and depending on a particular gym’s benefits, potentially access that gym’s facilities throughout the U.S.

Gyms are typically the larger national chain centers such as Snap Fitness, Fitness 19, Planet Fitness, etc., but not exclusively. You may find locally-owned gyms participating, too. You can check which gyms are available in your area by searching Active&Fit Now’s listings here.

You can also access what is called “Premium” facilities for an increased, but often times lesser, fee than is charged to non-Active&Fit Now members. Those facilities can be found on the search page by selecting the “Premium” button at the top of the search results.

And, your Active&Fit Now membership will also provide access to over 7,000 workout videos on the Active&Fit Now online platform so you can work out anywhere at any time.

As for signing up, you will have to pay for two months upfront plus a $29 enrollment fee. So, $87 plus tax when you join.

But, through August 31, September 30, 2022, you can get the $29 enrollment fee waived by using the Code: SUMMERSAVINGS at checkout. See beginning of post for waived fee code good through March 31, 2023.

And, finally, once you’ve finished the first two pre-paid months, you can cancel your membership at any time. There are no long-term commitments with the Active&Fit programs.

You can view the Active&Fit Now site for more information, as well as join, at the link below.

Don’t forget, if your health insurance provider, employer, etc. provides access to Active&Fit, you’ll be able to save $4 per month by signing up that route instead. Although, I’m not sure the waived enrollment fee is available for those memberships. Guess it’s worth a try if you’re eligible.

My Active&Fit Experience

My health insurance provider – Anthem – includes Active&Fit as one of its benefits, so I joined via that plan, paying the $25 per month rate – which, with tax, comes to $26.69. Your final tally will be different, based on your local tax rates.

I initially selected three fitness centers to join during the sign-up process. You’ll need to print out the associated paperwork for each gym and take it in during the in-gym sign-up process.

Ultimately, I decided to only join one due to distance. But, from member reports, it does appear you can join multiple gyms and use them at the same time – even the same day if you wanted.

The sign-up process in-gym was fairly easy. I handed them the printed Active&Fit paperwork, from which my personal information was inputted into their system. There were a few additional questions asked such as emergency contact, etc. and that was it. A membership card was provided and I have full access to the facility.

As an example on pricing (at a Snap Fitness facility), last week I overheard a woman removing her husband from her membership. The representative finalized the removal and said, “your new monthly price will be $55.” So, she’s paying $55 for a single membership while I’m getting the same exact membership for $26.69…less than half. Not a bad deal. Of course, individual fitness center pricing will likely differ based on location. So, the savings may not be as much.

The roughly $30 per month associated with the Active&Fit Now program would still likely be a savings depending on the facility you want to join.

The only fitness center where it might not be a deal would be Planet Fitness. Although, an Active&Fit Now membership will provide a Planet Fitness Black membership which prices at about $23 per month ($10 plus tax for the basic membership) but you won’t have to pay the Planet Fitness $30 annual fee. So, while close, it might just pay to join Planet Fitness directly if that’s the only gym you’ll use. That would be especially true if you’re joining under the basic $10 per month plan.

Wrap Up

As prices increase for just about everything, it’s nice to find a deal that’s good not only for your bank account, but for your health and well-being, too.

The Active&Fit programs – either the organization-affiliated $25/month or open-to-all $29/month plan – will likely save you money on your fitness center fees.

And if you’re reading this during the winter 2023 months, you may be able to save the $29 enrollment fee, making this an even better deal than usual.

Fitness is an important component to an overall healthy lifestyle. And these days, with all the stressors we’ve faced and will likely face in the coming months, an economically beneficial fitness regimen is likely more important than ever before.

So give these Active&Fit programs a look and see if you can benefit.

And if you like this deal, please pass it along to others who may benefit, too.
