[Updated 2023] Grab a Multi-Gym Membership Via Active&Fit for Only $25 Per Month (Fee Increasing to $28 March 2023)
Quote from Savings Beagle on February 2, 2020, 1:24 pmUpdate January 2023 - The basics of Active&Fit are still pretty much the same and can be found in the post below.
Active&Fit will be increasing its monthly membership fees for both the Active&Fit Direct and Active&Fit Now programs beginning March 2023. Active&Fit Direct will increase to $28 per month and Active&Fit Now will increase to $32 per month, both plus tax.
There is now an organization-free membership option named Active&Fit Now that prices at $29 per month that you can read about at this link. Now Through March 31, 2023, you can have the $29 enrollment fee for this program waived with Promo Code: YOURYEAR.
The $25 enrollment fee may be waived by using the Promo Code: YOURYEAR through March 31, 2023, during the sign-up process. Let us know in the comments if it works for you.
And, a change during 2021 - Premium fitness centers have been added to the program for a slightly higher monthly fee. The exact fee varies depending on the center. You can view all fitness centers (standard and premium) in your area using the Active&Fit search page.
Exercise is one of the best ways to save money. Whether it's helping to maintain a positive mental attitude or bettering your physical fitness, exercising can pay huge dividends in a variety of ways.
The downside? Many gyms have significant monthly fees, not to mention initiation costs and sometimes even annual dues to be a member.
In comes Active&Fit to help lower those costs.
First and foremost, Active&Fit is not something you as an individual can join. Your employer, association and/or health insurance provider must offer it as a benefit.
Anthem is one widely used health insurance provider that offers it as a benefit. And reports indicate Aetna is another provider offering an Active&Fit benefit.
USAA is another one, but unless you're a current or former member of the U.S. military - or a dependent - you can't utilize USAA insurance products.
But, USAA does offer bank accounts that anyone can sign-up for, and having a USAA savings account should qualify you for an Active&Fit membership.
And, of course, ask your employer's human resource staff if Active&Fit is a benefit they offer.
If you can access an Active&Fit membership, you'll be able to use any gym that is part of the Active&Fit program for only $25 per month! And that includes using multiple fitness centers if you wish.
Once you're an Active&Fit member, you'll show your Active&Fit credentials to member gyms...as many as you like...and set up an account with those individual gyms. Your only payment is to Active&Fit at $25 a month. Tax is likely extra, though. But, there are no additional payments to the individual gyms.
For new Active&Fit members, you will have to pay for two months up front ($50) and a $25 enrollment fee.
*You may be able to have the enrollment fee waived with the Promo Code: youryear.
After that, you're only committed to one more month ($25) of membership, after which you can cancel at any time without additional costs. And you can re-activate your membership at any time - although you'll have to pay the enrollment fee and the up front 2-months fees again.
All that considered, for many gym memberships, this is a really good deal. The key is whether your employer / health insurance provider offers an Active&Fit membership benefit. Or, if you want to try the USAA bank account route. You can view information and see what member fitness clubs are near you at this Active&Fit website link.
And we have a bit more information in our post "Active&Fit Offers Multi-Gym Access for Only $25 a Month" if you'd like to check it out.
