Post-Holiday Amex Offers 2017
|Many of us are all shopped out after the frenzied holiday buying season. But, there’s always room for an Amex Offer or two, right?
In a post titled “American Express Offers – A Great Way to Save” I wrote about the great savings opportunities that can be found if you are an American Express cardholder.
Here are a few recent additions to Amex Offers that could save you money, and, for some, add to your Membership Rewards balance as 2017 ends and the new year begins. Offers may be targeted, so check your account for availability.
And always be sure to read the fine print of the individual Offers to make sure you’re not missing some important requirements.
Marriott – SPEND $300 OR MORE AND GET 4,000 Membership Rewards Points
If you have any travel plans between now and February 28, 2018, this is an easy way to grab 4,000 Membership Rewards points if a Marriott property will fit the bill.
Simply spend $300+ on room rate and room charges at Marriott using your enrolled American Express card to pay and earn 4,000 Membership Rewards points. This is a one-time offer and the offer is valid at participating Marriott brands in the U.S. and U.S. territories only.
Offer is not valid for stays that are paid for before or after the promotion start and end dates: 12/15/17 – 2/28/18.
Studio Movie Grill – SPEND $50 OR MORE AND GET $10 BACK
Get a one-time $10 statement credit when your enrolled card is used to spend $50 or more in one or more transactions in-theater at Studio Movie Grill or online at studiomoviegrill.com by 3/20/18.
Studio Movie Grills are only located in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. So, if you don’t live in one of these states – and near a Studio Movie Grill location – you’re out of luck on this Amex Offer.
However, for those with a Studio Movie Grill nearby, the period between Christmas and New Years in prime movie viewing time, so why not take advantage of this savings.
And for those of you living in the colder climes, when the bone-chilling cold sets in and the snow is flying, taking refuge in a warm theater for a few hours is just the right ticket. Which is good since this deal is valid through late March!
Sam’s Club – Save $25 on a Membership and Spend $30 and Get $15 Back
These are two separate Amex Offers.
The first gives a one-time $25 statement credit when your enrolled American Express card is used to purchase a new Sam’s Club Membership (Savings, Business or Plus) online at samsclub.com by 1/31/18. This Offer is not valid on memberships purchased in-Club, via the mobile app or by phone.
The Offer is also not valid on membership renewals, upgrades, add-ons, etc. See the Offer’s Terms for details.
This is actually a pretty good deal on any of the Sam’s Club memberships. If you currently have a membership, but it’s close to ending, have your spouse or someone else in your household set up a new membership using this Offer. You get added as a complimentary cardholder and access continues for a reduced price.
The second Offer gives a one-time $15 statement credit when your enrolled card is used to spend a minimum of $30+ in one or more transactions online at samsclub.com by 1/31/18.
That’s a 50% savings if you spend right at $30!
There are some exclusions, so be sure to check the Offer’s Terms before going online and making your purchases.
Not everyone sees the value of a warehouse club membership. And for some, they’re right. The prices aren’t always that much better than grocery and other stores, especially if you aren’t buying for a large family/group. Although there are pricing sweet spots to be found. Razor blades used to be one. Now it’s hit or miss depending on pricing at Walmart or Target.
The biggest savings opportunity, though, can be in the prescription drug pricing.
If you pay for your own prescriptions, or even if you have insurance that requires a prescription co-pay, prescription pricing at Sam’s Club Pharmacies can be hard to beat.
Many prescriptions are priced at $4 for a 30 day supply. And those who aren’t priced at that low-level can be found at prices lower than other pharmacies, mail order included.
Read our piece, “Sam’s Club Pharmacies Offer Great Savings on Prescription Drugs,” for more details and a link to the prescription drug pricing list.
To get the low pricing on prescription drugs, you must have a Sam’s Plus Membership which costs $100. But, purchase it with this Amex Offer and it’ll only cost you $75! And potentially save you a lot on your prescriptions as well as various other items you can find deals on in the vast Sam’s Club aisles.
