Grab $5 Cash Back When You Use Your Targeted Chase Credit Card to Contactless Pay

Chase is emailing targeted accounts with a promotion to get $5 cash back when you use the targeted card to pay using the contactless payment method (holding the card over the payment terminal).

It appears Freedom cards are most prevalent for this promotion, but it may be targeted to any account. Watch your email…or just “tap” your contactless pay card three times during the promo period and see if it works.

No enrollment is necessary for the promo.

You just need to use contactless pay three times between now and December 31, 2020, for a purchase of $1.75 or more each time.

I guess if you really wanted to play the game, you’d make contactless purchases as close to $1.75 as possible, three times, making whatever you bought essentially free once the $5 credit hits your account.

Personally, that’s too much bother for me. But, I might try the contactless pay thing three times by the end of the year – if I remember, that is – to “earn” an easy $5.
