Earn 2,000 Ultimate Rewards Points with This Chase Pay/eBags Deal
|Earn 2,000 Ultimate Rewards points when you spend $20 or more at ebags.com and use Chase Pay to checkout using your Sapphire or Freedom card to pay.
As I mentioned with the Walmart and Best Buy Chase Pay promotions, Chase is really trying to drive users to its mobile payments system with some really good points/cash back earning opportunities. Shrewd marketing plan on Chase’s part that’s working well…at least on me.
It appears, as with the other recent Chase Pay promotions, any personal Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card will earn the 2,000 UR points.
The Chase Sapphire, Sapphire Preferred, Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are mentioned in the promo’s language. Missing is the Sapphire Reserve, but I would think it would qualify for this deal as well. Not guaranteed, though.
Chase business credit cards which earn Ultimate Rewards points are not eligible for Chase Pay deals.
eBags Promotion
So, to get an easy 2,000 Ultimate Rewards points (or $20 cash back) all you have to do is purchase $20 or more at eBags.com, use Chase Pay to checkout, and make sure one of the above mentioned Chase cards is selected as your payment method within Chase Pay.
The promotion is good one-time only and runs through December 31, 2017.
If, however, you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred and a Chase Freedom card, as an example, you should be able to take advantage of this deal with each card, earning 4,000 UR points or $40 cash back.
You have to spend $49+ to get free shipping, but eBags does partner with Shoprunner, so if you have a free Shoprunner membership via an American Express credit card or other option, you can use that for free, 2-day shipping. If you’re not a member via one of the many free membership options, you can sign up at the Shoprunner link above for a 30-day free trial. Just remember to login to your Shoprunner account once you go to eBags.com to get the free shipping.
If you don’t already have an eBags purchase in mind, you might want to check out the Steals & Deals page on the site to find products around that $20 price point. You might be surprised at some of the items you’ll find. What was going to be a throw-away purchase to get 2,000 UR points might turn into something worthwhile.

Before going to eBags.com, click through a cash back or miles/points earning portal to earn even more on the deal.
Below is a snapshot of current cash back and miles/points earning options at eBags. Check Cash Back Monitor or Evreward for the latest earning amounts.
I especially like the 10 UR points per dollar spent via the Chase portal, but the Top Cashback rate of 16% isn’t too bad, either.
Chase Pay
Yes, this promotion does involve a little effort in that you must use Chase Pay to make your payment. If you’re not familiar with Chase Pay, you can find more info here.

Or you can log in to your Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card account and under the Pay & Transfer dropdown link at the top of the page you’ll see a link for Chase Pay. Select it and you can quickly set up and activate your Chase Pay account.
Then, going forward, you’ll just have to enter your Chase account log in info when you pay with Chase Pay.
