Delta’s Shopping Portal Now Offering Bonus Miles for Early Holiday Purchases
|Last week we passed along the major airline shopping portal bonuses for upcoming purchases in the post “Earn Bonus Miles for Your Early Holiday Shopping at These Airline Portals.”
All the major airlines…United, American, Southwest, Alaska…were represented in the piece, detailing the variable amounts of bonus miles/points that can be earned when certain spend levels are met.
Delta was in the piece, too. However, unlike its competitors, it wasn’t offering a chunk of SkyMiles when spending thresholds were met. Rather, you could earn “extra” miles at certain retailers who changed week-to-week leading up to late December.
Well, someone decided that wasn’t quite enough to entice shoppers to use the SkyMiles Shopping portal when competing airline shopping portals were offering much better bonus miles deals.
Which has resulted in Delta’s SkyMiles Shopping portal putting forth two bonus miles levels that just might encourage shoppers to consider the SkyMiles portal when shopping online.
Delta SkyMiles Shopping
The Delta SkyMiles Shopping portal is offering up to 1,000 bonus SkyMiles for purchases made between now, November 5, 2018, and November 18, 2018.
- Earn 500 bonus miles when you spend $150
- Earn 1,000 bonus miles when you spend $300
As with the other airline shopping portal bonuses, this one-time bonus will be based on cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period (11/05-11/18). Which means, you can make multiple purchases at multiple retailers on the SkyMiles Shopping portal and all of those purchases added together will determine which bonus miles tier you fall into.
And, according to the SkyMiles Holiday Bonus page, you’ll earn the extra miles individual stores will be offering during this period, too.
Be sure to read the fine print associated with this bonus miles earning opportunity if you plan on buying gift cards or other cash equivalents…I’ll save you the trouble…they shouldn’t count toward spend thresholds.
And, shipping and tax charges will not count toward spend level, either.
But those qualifiers are the same for all bonus miles shopping portals’ deals.
Overall, this is nice to see. Delta’s shopping portal incentives were ho-hum at best.
If Delta is your airline of choice, you now have the opportunity to add a chunk of extra SkyMiles to your account when you spend certain amounts via the SkyMiles portal now through November 18.
