My Thoughts and More Details

Fairmont Hotel Stays

There are two Fairmont Hotel stays available. Below are the packages, pricing, and total number available to purchase.

Fairmont Grand Del Mar, San Diego – You’ll receive 4 Ovation Rewards certificates redeemable at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar for a 1-night stay for 2 people in a standard room with breakfast for 2 the following morning at the resort’s all-day restaurant.

Price: $2,000

Amount: 10

Purchase Limit: 1

What’s nice about this deal is you receive 4 one-night stay certificates that can used for a 4-night getaway, or 4, 1-night stays, or any other combination you desire.

I did a search for a 4-night stay September 14 – 18, 2018, which included breakfast for 2, and it priced at $2,396 taxes included.

For that specific stay, you’d save almost $400 purchasing the Daily Getaways deal.

While you are saving something purchasing this offer, let’s be honest, Fairmonts are not value level hotels, and the $2,000 price tag for this deal is steep in anyone’s book.  And for those who don’t consider $500 per night a high room rate, well, they probably don’t care so much about saving $400.

That said, if you’re looking for a splurge for a special occasion, and the Fairmont Grand Del Mar is on your list, this deal may be something you want to grab.

Fairmont Austin – You’ll receive 2 Ovation Rewards certificates each redeemable for a one night stay for 2 people in a standard room with breakfast for two the following morning at the resort’s all-day restaurant.

Price: $608

Available: 20

Purchase Limit: 1

Austin is hot these days…and not just because of the weather.

Which is why you’re seeing a Fairmont hotel deal in Austin, Texas rather than any other location in which Fairmont has a property.

Use the 2 certificates together, or split them up for 2 1-night stays, your choice.

To know if this is a good deal, you’ll need to check room rates (with breakfast included) for the dates you’d like to visit. You can do so at this link.

The few dates I looked at showed variable savings grabbing this deal, from about $150 for one 2-night stay to approximately $250 for the other.

If Austin is on your travel schedule, and you want a higher tier stay experience, then definitely consider this Daily Getaways deal.

If you’re interested in any of these Las Vegas package deals, be sure to read the Terms and Conditions associated with each prior to purchase. Most have blackout dates and redemption requirements of which you should be aware. And especially keep the expiration dates in mind for each of the deals, some are only good through the end of this year.

Click here to get to the Week Two page and then select the package you’re interested in purchasing for its details.

Orbitz Coupon

You must be an Orbitz Rewards member to use this $1,000 promo code.

Within 10 days of purchase, you will receive a $1,000 Orbitz promo code via email that can be applied to any stand-alone hotel booking (no packages) made at orbitz.com that is prepaid at the time of booking. The $1,000 spend must take place in one transaction. Code will be entered on the payment page of your hotel booking at the link, “Enter coupon code.”

Price: $650

Available: 60

Purchase Limit: 1

You’re basically getting $1,000 worth of hotel stay for $650 with this deal. However, note the $1,000 needs to be used in one transaction. If the stay is less than $1,000, you’ll lose the amount that isn’t used.

There’s a lot of detail associated with this deal, so definitely read the Terms & Conditions prior to purchasing.

Marriott eGift Cards

This is simply a straight up savings deal. You buy an eGift Card at a certain price and you get a higher value for your purchase.

Marriott eGift Cards can be used like cash at over 4,000 participating Marriott and Ritz Carlton properties. These eGift Cards do not expire.

The 3 Marriott eGift Cards deals are:

$100 Marriott eGift Card for $80 – 1070 Available – Purchase Limit: 5

$250 Marriott eGift Card for $200 – 252 Available – Purchase Limit: 2

$500 Marriott eGift Card for $400 – 200 Available – Purchase Limit: 2

Save 20% on any Marriott purchase, whether it’s on room rates, dining in a Marriott hotel or any other purchase that can be made at a Marriott property when you use the eGift Card to pay.

There are some Marriott Hotel brands that do not accept gift cards, many of which are Starwood properties that are now considered Marriotts since the acquisition. Be sure to look at the Terms & Conditions for property, and other, exclusions prior to purchase.

Las Vegas Suite Getaways

And on Friday there are two more Las Vegas deals.

Three nights in a Siena Suite (1,280 square feet) at The Palazzo. Price: $850 (20 Available)

Three nights in a Piazza Suite (1,400 square feet) at The Venetian. Price: $650 (30 Available)

These deals are all about staying in a suite for a reduced price.

A quick check of the Piazza View Suite shows for October 19-22, 2018, pricing would be $1,499.45. And that price doesn’t include the $45/night resort fee, which is included in the deal. You’d definitely be saving a lot by purchasing the deal.

And the Siena Suite at The Palazzo prices at $1,811.25 (not including $45/night resort fee) for those same dates. Again, a significant savings by purchasing the deal.

Both of the Suite deals are only good through March 31, 2019, so you’ll want to be sure you can make a Vegas trip prior to that date.

While the Terms & Conditions on these two offers are not as extensive as some, it’s probably best to review them prior to purchase. The above link is for the T&C associated with the Palazzo deal.

Daily Getaways Ins and Outs

All Daily Getaways deals go on sale at 1:00 pm ET the day they are listed.

I’ve noted the quantities available next to each deal – they’re also listed on an individual deal’s page on the Daily Getaways calendar. For popular deals, they will go quickly, so be ready to click the “Buy Now” button right at 1:00 pm.

Actually, if there is any deal in which you’re interested, just to be safe I’d be ready to buy right at 1:00 pm when the deal opens.

As with anything in life, the details matter, so for deals you’re interested in, be sure to look at the fine print…it’s listed on each individual deal at the Daily Getaways site.

So, scope out the deals that interest you for this week, set your cell phone alarm for 12:50 pm the day of the deal and get ready to buy!

I’ll see you next weekend for my rundown of the 2018 Daily Getaways final week’s deals. And, as usual, Hyatt aficionados, you’re on the clock.
