My Thoughts and More Details

Universal Orlando Packages

There are three different Universal Orlando deals up for grabs. These would be a great purchase for anyone planning an Orlando visit this coming summer.

The first deal is for tickets that entitle 2 people admission to all three Universal theme parks for three days. Days can spread over a 7-day period.

Price: $535

Available: 50

Purchase Limit: 3

The price to buy online is $630 for 2 – three park, three-day tickets, so you’d be saving $95 purchasing this deal. Just make sure Universal Orlando is really on your travel list sometime before the tickets’ expiration on May 25, 2018.

The second deal is a vacation package, including roundtrip airfare for 4 people, airport transfers, a three-night stay in a Universal on-site hotel for 4 people and three-park, three-day admissions for 4 people.

Price: $2,642

Available: 10

Purchase Limit: 1

If you don’t have airline miles or hotel points to use for free flights/accommodations, and you want to make the vacation process as easy as possible, this just might fit the bill.

And the final Universal Orlando deal is for a private, VIP Experience of Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

You’ll receive a personalized, escorted walking tour of each park for one day, where you’ll get Front-of-the-line access to all rides and attractions as well as 2 group dining vouchers, complimentary valet parking and more.

Price: $3,500

Available: 1

If you want a unique, line-skipping Universal Orlando experience, and money’s not an issue, here you go.

Hilton Honors Points

There are three Hilton Honors points packages available Tuesday. Whether they are a deal or not largely depends on your personal situation. Where are you traveling, when, and are you topping off your Hilton Honors account to reach a desired award redemption, or just adding points with no specific redemption in mind?

This does become a little more interesting with Hilton’s recent loyalty program change that allows up to 11 people to pool Hilton Honors points. Just something to consider.

The Hilton Honors points packages are:

  • 30,000 Hilton points for $144 – 450 available – Purchase Limit: 3 sets of points
  • 100,000 Hilton points for $480 – 275 available – Purchase Limit: 1
  • 250,000 Hilton points for $1,200 – 236 available – Purchase Limit: 1

If you’re not familiar with the Hilton Honors program and its redemption options, I encourage you to visit Hilton.com and search for point redemptions at your desired destination(s).

Orbitz Promo Code

You must be an Orbitz Rewards member to use this $1,000 promo code.

Within 10 days of purchase, you will receive a $1,000 Orbitz promo code via email that can be applied to any stand-alone hotel booking (no packages) made at orbitz.com that is prepaid at the time of booking. The $1,000 spend must take place in one transaction. Code will be entered on the payment page of your hotel booking at the link, “Enter a coupon.”

You’re basically getting $1,000 worth of hotel stay for $650 with this deal. However, note the $1,000 needs to be used in one transaction. If the stay is less than $1,000, you’ll lose the amount that isn’t used.

Daily Getaways Ins and Outs

All Daily Getaways deals go on sale at 1:00 pm ET the day they are listed.

I’ve noted the quantities available next to each deal – they’re also listed on an individual deal’s page on the Daily Getaways calendar. For popular deals, they will go quickly, so be ready to click the “Buy Now” button right at 1:00 pm.

Actually, if there is any deal in which you’re interested, just to be safe I’d be ready to buy right at 1:00 pm when the deal opens.

As with anything in life, the details matter, so for deals you’re interested in, be sure to look at the fine print…it’s listed on each individual deal at the Daily Getaways site.

So, scope out the deals that interest you for this week, set your cell phone alarm for 12:50 pm the day of the deal and get ready to buy!

I’ll see you next weekend with my rundown of week five – the final week of this year’s Daily Getaways – deals.

Until then, here’s hoping you get the travel deal(s) of your choice!
