Amex Offers That’ll Save a Little on Your Grocery Shopping and Gasoline Purchases

American Express has added a couple Amex Offers that’ll save a little on your grocery shopping and gasoline purchases over the next few months.

As with any Offer, you need o check your American Express accounts to see if either is available to you.

Grocery Stores

The grocery – or U.S. supermarkets as Amex likes to call them – Amex Offer provides a one-time, monthly $5 statement credit when your enrolled American Express card is used to spend $100 in one or more transactions each month during the Offer period.

The Offer is valid now through December 31, 2021.

So, use it in October, November and December and save a total of $15 over the three-month period.

No, it’s not a huge money-saver, but it’s better than nothing if you have this Offer on your Amex card, and aren’t able to earn any better cash back or points with some other credit card.

Enrollment is limited, which means once a certain number of this Offer have been loaded to cards, it will be pulled from the remaining accounts. Add it now if you think you might use it.

Gasoline

And, for gasoline purchases, you can get a $3 statement credit when you spend $35 or more in one or more transactions at a U.S. gas station by December 31, 2021.

There is a similar Offer that provides 3% back as a statement credit up to $15 instead of the $3 statement credit.

This Offer can be used up to 5 times prior to its end date for a total of $15 in savings on your gas station purchases.

Again, not huge, but better than nothing if you don’t have another card that provides a better return on gas purchases.

This Offer’s enrollment is also limited, so add it fast if interested.

There are some restrictions in the Offer Terms, but for the most part, a regular gas station purchase should trigger the statement credit. Superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not included in this Offer.

Offset That Inflation

We’re seeing significant inflation in both grocery prices and gasoline prices, so using Amex Offers like these – while not a huge savings – will at least make a dent in the price increases we’re all being subject to these days.

If at all possible, use your credit cards strategically to better your financial situation, not the bank’s.
