Amex Offers for May 2018 and Father’s Day
In a post titled “American Express Offers – A Great Way to Save” I wrote about the great savings opportunities that can be found if you are an American Express cardholder. Below are a few of the more mainstream Amex Offers for May 2018, and a few that may save on Father’s Day gift giving.
Offers may be targeted, so check your American Express account(s) for availability.
And always be sure to read the fine print of the individual Offers to make sure you’re not missing some important requirements.
Amex Offers for May 2018
Sam’s Club – Spend $30 or more and get $15 back
This is a pretty good deal for Sam’s Club members. Basically, you’re getting a 50% discount if your purchase is right around $30.
Simply use your enrolled American Express card to make an online purchase of $30 or more in one or more transactions by 6/14/18, and receive a $15 statement credit.
This Amex Offer is only valid for online purchases via samsclub.com or on the Sam’s Club mobile app. You will not receive the statement credit if you use your enrolled card in-store.
You should, however, be able to use the buy-online-pickup-in-store feature if you don’t want to bother with shipping. I tried this with one of the last online-only Sam’s Club Amex Offers and the statement credit worked…although it did take longer than normal – more than a week if I remember correctly – for the credit to appear on the online statement.
This may also work to give a discount on a Sam’s Club membership purchased online. A basic membership runs $45 per year – with the statement credit it would price at $30 for a year’s membership. The Plus membership – which gives access to reduced prescription drug prices – would cost $85 for the year after the statement credit.
There’s no guarantee a membership will trigger the Amex Offer’s statement credit, though. And there are a number of exclusions in the Offer’s Terms that should be reviewed prior to using.
And, enrollment is limited, so the quicker to add this Offer to your card, the more likely it’ll be there for you to add it to your card.
The Kansas City Steak Company – Spend $75 or more and get $15 back
Get a one-time $15 statement credit when your enrolled American Express card is used to spend $75 or more in one or more transactions in-store at The Kansas City Steak Company or online at kansascitysteaks.com by 6/30/18.
I’ve never tried ordering from The Kansas City Steak Company, so I can’t give a recommendation one way or another.
But, if Dad enjoys a good steak – or any meat for that matter – then it might be worth a try.
It appears the only “store” is located in Kansas City, Kansas (appropriately), so most will be ordering online.
Enrollment in this Offer is also limited, so add it to your card soon if you think you might use it.
Omaha Steaks – Spend $50 or more and get $10 back
Get a one-time $10 statement credit when you use your enrolled American Express card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more transactions at omahasteaks.com/amex by 6/15/18.
This Offer is valid online only. And while I’m not sure you have to use the /amex suffix to the web address to use the Amex Offer, I’d do it just to be safe.
If you’ve had good experiences with Omaha Steaks in the past, then this might be the Offer to go with for your grilling favorites.
Be sure to check the Offer Terms for exclusions before purchasing.
Cookies by Design – Spend $50 or more and get $10 back (can be used for 2 statement credits)
Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled American Express card to make a single purchase of $50 or more in-store or online at cookiesbydesign.com by 6/29/18.
The Offer is valid both in a Cookies by Design store and for orders placed online. And, you can use the Offer twice to effectively get $20 off $100 in purchases.
If Dad likes sweets rather than steaks, this might be an option. Or if someone has a birthday or other special event coming up, why not save on your cookie or other sweet treat purchase?
