Amex Offers – February 2017
|In a post titled “American Express Offers – A Great Way to Save” I wrote about the great savings opportunities that can be found if you are an American Express cardholder.
Here are a few recent additions to Amex Offers that could save you some cold, hard cash on your next purchases. Offers may be targeted, so check your account for availability.
Hotels.com Gift Card – Spend $50 or more and get $10 back
This is a pretty straight forward offer, go to hotels.com/giftcards, buy a gift card valued at $50 or more and get a statement credit for $10.
If you have multiple American Express cards with this offer available, you can purchase multiple $50 hotels.com gift cards – receiving a $10 credit for each purchase – and combine the purchased gift cards on the hotels.com website to book a more expensive stay.
Or, simply buy a $50 gift card, save $10, and use that $50 toward a hotels.com hotel booking.
Note: this offer is for gift card purchases only, the credit will not be applied to any other purchase on hotels.com.
1800Flowers.com – Spend $50 or more and get $15 back
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so it must be time for the 1800Flowers.com Amex Offer.
If you’re not familiar, this offer doesn’t just apply to flowers, but can be applied to any of the 1800Flowers.com associated merchants. A few of which include, harryanddavid.com, thepopcornfactory.com, fanniemay.com and more. You can see all of them at the top of the 1800Flowers.com site.
And, if you want to earn Southwest Rapid Rewards points in addition to saving $15 with this offer, see our post from last year, “Valentine’s Day Flowers and Points.” It doesn’t appear that Southwest is offering the 1,750 point deal this year, but you can earn 1,000 Rapid Rewards points when making a purchase of 29.99 or more on the 1800Flowers.com site.
Update: the 1,750 Rapid Rewards point offer is back. Use promo code SW27 at checkout to receive the 1,750 points. Unfortunately, the increased points do not count toward Companion Pass status, and you must spend $34.99+ to get the increased bonus points.
If you stack the Southwest points earning deal with this Amex Offer, that’s a pretty good Valentine’s Day gift to yourself!
Turbo Tax – Save $10-$20 on your online order
You can save $10 on Turbo Tax Deluxe, $15 on Turbo Tax Premier or $20 on Turbo Tax Self-Employed now through October 15 of this year.
You need to use the link, turbotax.intuit.com/go/amex to receive the credit, and it states the deal cannot be combined with any other offer.
Which is too bad since there is also an offer to earn 1,000 Southwest points for filing your return with Turbo Tax.
Take your pick, I guess.
Petco.com – Spend $50 or more and get $10 back
Spend $50 or more in one or more transactions online at petco.com and get the $10 statement credit.
Buy some food, treats or toys and save $10. Easy peasy.
Rover.com – Spend $75 or more and get $30 back
I haven’t used Rover.com, but I did use similar sites in the past to search for pet sitters in my area.
Obviously, you’ll want to use the site to search for available providers in your area and carefully vet them prior to enlisting their services. But, if you find someone you like and trust, you can save $30 on your pet walking or sitting fees.
