Amex Offers for April 2018
In a post titled “American Express Offers – A Great Way to Save” I wrote about the great savings opportunities that can be found if you are an American Express cardholder. Below are a few of the more mainstream Amex Offers for April 2018.
Offers may be targeted, so check your American Express account(s) for availability.
And always be sure to read the fine print of the individual Offers to make sure you’re not missing some important requirements.
Amex Offers for April 2018
Starbucks – Save 15% every time, up to $5
Get 15% of your in-store purchase back as a statement credit each time you use your enrolled American Express card at Starbucks by 5/16/2018. This Starbucks deal was offered earlier this year – it must have generated a good amount of card usage, so they brought it back.
The 15% back deal is valid in-store, at stand-alone Starbucks locations and for app reloads. There’s a limit of $5 in statement credits, total, for this deal.
While it’s not a huge money saver, it will save you something on your Starbucks habit. The $5 max statement credit works out to roughly $34 in total Starbucks spend. An easy way to take advantage of this Offer is to reload your Starbucks app for $34 with your enrolled Amex card and be done with it.
Be sure to read the deal’s fine print, there are a number of excluded locations, such as Starbucks located within retails stores, supermarkets, etc. And you won’t get the statement credit purchasing e-gift cards.
J. Crew – Spend $100 or more and get $20 back
Get a one-time $20 statement credit when your enrolled American Express card is used to spend $100 or more in one or more transactions in-store or online at jcrew.com.
Offer expires 6/18/2018.
Apple Pay – Spend $5 or more and get $2 back (up to 5 times)
Get a $2 statement credit each time you use your enrolled Amex card to make a single purchase of $5 or more using Apple Pay on your eligible mobile device.
There is a limit of $10 in total statement credits per online account. The Apple Pay Offer expires 8/29/18.
This, like many other mobile wallet promotions, is a way to get consumers used to and comfortable with the new payment technology. It does take a little getting used to, and the locations that accept the various mobile wallet payment systems can be limited, but once you’ve tried it a time or two, you might find it’s a more convenient way to pay.
This offer may be a good way to try it out if you’ve yet to step into the mobile wallet payment world.
Dining Offers
Brio – Spend $50 or more and get $10 back
Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled American Express card to make a single purchase of $50 or more at a Brio Tuscan Grille.
The Offer is valid in-restaurant only and must be used before 6/16/18.
Bravo – Spend $40 or more and get $10 back
Use your enrolled Amex card to make a single purchase of $40 or more at a Bravo Cucina Italiana and receive a one-time $10 statement credit.
This Offer is valid for in-restaurant purchases, as well as food orders place online and paid for in-restaurant. Offer expires 6/16/18.
Chuck E. Cheese – Spend $25 or more and get $5 back
Get a one-time $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Amex card to make a single purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant by 5/31/18.
Amazon Offer
Amazon – Spend $50 and get $20 back OR Spend $50 and get 2,000 Membership Rewards points
I, unfortunately, don’t have this specific Offer on any of my American Express cards. A hat tip to Frequent Miler for posting this Offer.
According to Stephen over at Frequent Miler, the Offer has limited enrollment (if it’s on your card(s), add it immediately), is valid for purchases on amazon.com and the U.S. Amazon mobile app, and expires 5/31/18.
It appears the Offer will only be on a Membership Rewards earning card, even though it might be the $50/$20 Offer. Haven’t seen reports of it showing on Hilton, SPG, etc. cards as of yet.
