Verizon iPhone SE 2020 $0 per Month with New Line Activation (Unlimited Plan)

Verizon Wireless is offering the newly released iPhone SE (2020 version) for $0 per month when a new line on an Unlimited Plan is added.

If you’re looking for a Verizon Wireless upgrade deal (no new line required) with the iPhone SE, check out our Discussion Board post regarding the Walmart iPhone SE for $199 ($8.29/month) deal.

The iPhone SE isn’t the top of the line iPhone offering, but it’s more than adequate for most who don’t need the absolute best and latest when it comes to technology.

For a family – or group of individuals sharing a data plan – who’s looking for a quality, economical phone option to couple with an additional line, or an individual new to Verizon who isn’t bringing his/her own device and doesn’t care about the latest and greatest technology, this is a deal to consider.

VERIZON WIRELESS IPHONE SE DEAL

Important to note upfront, this deal requires activation of a new Verizon Wireless line of service.

With that new line activation typically comes a one-time fee of $40. However, if you order online – which you have to do to get the $0 per month deal – you’ll get $20 off that $40 activation fee.

There have been some reports that if you call or chat with Verizon Wireless customer support and ask really nicely, they’ll waive the activation fee altogether. Absolutely no guarantees, though.

For the phone portion, you’ll be billed $0 per month for 24 months for the 64GB version of the iPhone SE.  You can also get a 128GB version for $5 per month and a 256GB version for $10 per month.

The free phone will be the result of a $399.99 (promo) statement credit applied over 24 months.

Which means, you’ll effectively be locked into a 24-month service contract with Verizon.

While you are getting a deal on the phone price you will, again, be locked in to paying Verizon’s monthly cell service fee, the exact amount depending on the plan you choose.

$70 (plus tax and fees) appears to be the least expensive one-line Unlimited plan currently offered by Verizon.  Of course, your monthly fee may be less if you’re adding a new line to an existing shared Unlimited service plan.

This deal is good on online purchases/activations only.  You won’t get this deal if you go into a Verizon Wireless retail location.

The promo credit will be applied to your account within 1-2 billing cycles.

And if you cancel the line of service prior to the end of the 24-month period, you’ll likely owe the remaining balance of the $399.99 less the effective monthly “payments” of $16.67 you’ve already made.

Verizon’s unlocking policy for phones purchased on postpaid accounts is:

“Devices that you purchase from Verizon are locked for 60 days after purchase. Devices that you purchase from our retail partners are locked for 60 days after activation. After 60 days, we will automatically remove the lock. Following the 60 day lock period, we do not lock our phones at any time.”

WRAP UP

If you already had plans to add a new line of service with Verizon Wireless but didn’t want to pay a $20, $30, or more per month charge for a phone, this deal might be for you.

Keep in mind, unlike previous free iPhone deals on Verizon, this one not only requires a new line of service, but also requires that that line be on one of Verizon’s Unlimited Plans. Which makes this less of a deal than in the past.

If you wanted an Unlimited Plan anyway, then this iPhone SE deal just might be for you.

It is hard to beat a “free” phone.

That said, if you’re looking for a real deal on a phone and cell service, there are better ways to go.

And if you happen to be looking for a Verizon Wireless UPGRADE deal (no new line of service required) then it looks like Walmart’s iPhone SE for $199 ($8.29/month) deal is still available. Click the link to get details at our Discussion Board post.
