Target’s New Loyalty Program Arrives Nationwide October 6, 2019

Target’s new loyalty program, Target Circle, is rolling out nationwide in just a few weeks.

After a pilot test run in six markets around the U.S., Target decided it was time to open the program up to all Target shoppers.

The program is free to join, and if you have a Target.com account, Cartwheel account or a Target RedCard, you’ll automatically be part of the new Target Circle program.

If you don’t fit into any of those categories but want to join, simply create a Target.com account, get approved for a Target RedCard or share your phone number at checkout in any Target store beginning October 6, 2019.

The Target Circle Program

Target Circle members will enjoy the following benefits.

  • Earn 1% on every shopping trip to redeem on future Target purchases
  • Personalized savings opportunities as well as a birthday reward
  • Early access to special sales
  • Target purchases earn votes to help direct Target’s philanthropic giving

The current Target Cartwheel savings program will be revamped and incorporated into the Target Circle program under the name, Target Circle Offers.

Target RedCard

Target has offered a Target Debit and Credit card for a while now.

Holders of either card enjoy a 5% savings on Target purchases. Which is a nice savings perk if you’re a regular Target shopper.

While Target RedCard holders will be part of the new Target Circle program, they will continue to earn the 5% instead of the 1% the new program offers.

The 1% cash back earning will not stack with the 5% savings if you’re a RedCard holder.

Look for new card designs and marketing for the RedCard as the new program rolls out.

Is Target’s New Loyalty Program Worth It?

Is Target’s new loyalty program, Target Circle, worth it? Absolutely!

Saving is saving, no matter the amount.

And if you are targeted with lucrative, personalized deals, all the better.

The 5% off a shopping trip birthday reward is a nice touch, too.

Of course, holding a RedCard is the best way to save on your Target purchases. If you shop fairly regularly at Target, you should give one of the cards a serious look.

Stack the 5% savings with personalized deals and early access to special sales associated with the new Target Circle program and you can really stretch your dollars on your everyday purchases.
