T-Mobile’s Test Drive Promo is Back – See if T-Mobile is Right for You Before Committing
|T-Mobile’s Test Drive Promo is back and it’s a great way to see if the T-Mobile network is right for you before making the switch.
One of the main reasons many are reluctant to move to a different wireless provider, even if it may result in lower monthly bills and more benefits, is just not knowing what the service will be like at the locations where most of their time is spent.
Even more than real estate, reliable wireless service is dependent on location, location and location.
While a coverage map may show full network access in your area, your location-specific experience may be much different.
For example, your friend who lives across town might swear by one wireless provider’s network quality and reliability. But when you give it a try at your home, or office, you just can’t get a reliable signal.
And it’s that fear of switching providers only to find out your home, office, and/or commute just doesn’t receive reliable service that keeps many from considering other wireless options.
T-Mobile gets that concern, which is why it’s offering a “Test Drive” to consumers interested in the T-Mobile service.
T-Mobile Test Drive
T-Mobile offered it’s first Test Drive in fall of 2019. Now it’s back with another.
T-Mobile is letting non-T-Mobile customers “try before you buy” with this Test Drive promotion.
Test Drive allows individuals interested in T-Mobile to try its network at their home, work and everyday locations to get a feel for how the T-Mobile network would work for them.
Prospective T-Mobile customers will be provided a free hotspot that connects to the T-Mobile network to use for 30 days or 30GB of data, whichever comes first.
Customers will connect to the hotspot using their own phone, phone number and apps to try the T-Mobile network.
Obviously, this is a marketing campaign for T-Mobile, and the claims it makes about its service will be put to the test.
A brave, but shrewd move if you ask me.
It may bring in new customers who may have never known the service works great for them. On the flip side, it may permanently turn others off who have a negative experience.
The only downside that I see, unless I’m missing something, is that actual cellular call quality and reliability won’t be able to be tested due to the connection to T-Mobile’s network being made via a wireless hotspot.
I welcome any corrections to my concern.
You will be able to check wireless data speed and connectivity, but voice – other than Wi-Fi calling – won’t be part of the test.
How to Take Advantage of the Test Drive
- Sign up for T-Mobile Test Drive at https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/free-trial. There is no need to visit a store.
- The T-Mobile Test Drive hotspot will be shipped to you for free and your trial will begin when you insert the SIM card into the hotspot device and activate it for the first time on the T-Mobile network.
Non-T-Mobile customers who have not participated in a free trial within the past 6 months are eligible for this promotion.
T-Mobile Test Drive participants are limited to one device per household.
Wrap Up
The cost of cellular service takes up more and more of our monthly budgets.
In fact, for many, it’s one of the larger monthly expenditures.
Finding less expensive wireless alternatives, while maintaining adequate service, is the goal of many.
But, as I said earlier, switching to other services without first knowing how that specific service will work for you can be a waste of time and money.
Which is why the T-Mobile Test Drive promotion is not only a shrewd marketing move on T-Mobile’s part but also a good opportunity for wireless consumers.
If you’ve ever considered switching to T-Mobile but have been concerned about its network reliability in your area, here’s an opportunity to give it a try with no commitment and absolutely free.
Now that’s a pretty good deal.
