T-Mobile Offering Students in Need a Free Internet Hotspot and 100GB of Data a Year

T-Mobile, through Project 10Million, is offering underserved students a free Internet hotspot and 100GB of mobile data per year.

Additionally, households will have access to at-cost laptops and tablets to make at-home learning more accessible.

As the pandemic persists, many school districts remain closed to in-person schooling. Learning, for all students, is most definitely hindered due to this “new normal,” but for those with limited or no Internet access, there is no learning at all. Assistance providing access is a vital component to helping ensure at least some education is accomplished by these at-risk students.

And this program will do just that.

One of the main problems with corporate-sponsored programs such as this, though, is getting the word out to eligible individuals.

Which is why we’re posting this to Savings Beagle. Please share so this program can receive the publicity it deserves.

Who Qualifies?

From the Project 10Million info page.

“Project 10Million offers free hotspots and 100GBs/year and access to at-cost laptops and tablets, to eligible students participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) – one per household. Parents will need to provide proof of NSLP approval for free or reduced-price meals upon enrollment. This approval can be in the form of a notification letter based upon request or a direct certification of eligibility letter.

Puerto Rico students are also eligible. Since all students in Puerto Rico are included in the NSLP, parents/guardians need to prove enrollment in a K-12 school in Puerto Rico by providing the student’s report card from the school or their certificate of enrollment. The certificate of enrollment is emailed to parent/guardians from the Department of Education upon enrollment in school.

All documentation must be properly signed and dated within the last twelve months.”

You can view all the information on this program and apply at T-Mobile’s Project 10Million page.

If your family, or one you know, is dealing with at-home learning with limited or no Internet access, definitely give this program a look.
