Shop and Earn Bonus Alaska, American and United Airlines Miles with This Promo
Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines are all offering shopping portal bonuses.
How much a specific bonus is and when the purchases must be made depends on the offer you get and the airline.
The typical offer is 500 bonus miles after spending $100 or $125, but certain accounts have been targeted with higher bonus offers. Make sure you’re logged into your shopping portal account to see what deal you’re getting.
United Airlines
United is the only shopping portal that counts online and select in-store purchases toward bonus offerings.

United’s bonus promotion runs through April 20, 2022.
American Airlines
The AAdvantage eShopping Portal has a somewhat increased spend minimum to get the bonus miles as well as an earlier end date.
To get your bonus miles, you’ll need to spend $125 via the portal.
And this bonus promo ends April 16, 2022.
Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan Shopping Portal isn’t as restrictive as American’s.
To get the bonus miles you’ll need to spend $100, with the end date being April 20, 2022.
Fine Print
It’s always worth checking the fine print at the bottom of each shopping portal’s promo page.
Below is the langauge for Alaska’s, but it’s the same for all airline bonus miles promos aside from the valid dates/spend minimums. Highlighted terms should be noted.
- During the “Mystery Bonus” offer, which runs from 4/13/2022 through 4/20/2022 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 500 Mileage PlanTM bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage PlanTM Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage PlanTM Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $100 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your Mileage PlanTM Shopping account.

The important part to keep in mind regarding Qualifying Purchases is that shipping and handling as well as taxes do not count toward the minimum spend amount. You don’t want to spend just over $100 (or $125 for American) to find out the amount that put your total over $100 was shipping and taxes.
