Shell Fuel Rewards Members Can Earn an Extra $0.20 per Gallon When Filling Up Tuesday, September 20, 2022 – Register by End of September 18th!
Shell’s Fuel Rewards program is offering [select] members an extra $0.20 per gallon discount on a fill up made Tuesday, September 20, 2022, when the promo is activated.
A quick disclaimer… The Fuel Rewards program is not always the best at clear communication of promo rules and terms. Below is my interpretation of how this promo will play out based on official language (below) and how the last two promotions worked.
Unlike the deal we saw earlier this summer, this one may be targeted to specific Fuel Rewards members, and require the activation of the offer via its email’s link. Check your email account for the Fuel Rewards email…mine was sent September 17…titled “Save 20 cents/gal on September 20th!.” And, the email language states to “Activate this offer below by the end of September 18th and fill up on September 20th…”
If you don’t have an email, maybe log in to your Fuel Rewards account to see if there’s an activation link available to you there. Although, while I received the email, I did not see an activation link anywhere on my Fuel Rewards online account.
Like the June and August promos, this is to celebrate the Fuel Rewards program’s 10 year anniversary.
The Tuesday, September 20th fill up (at least 5 gallons) will trigger the promotion’s $0.20 per gallon savings on that purchase.
When exactly the $0.20 per gallon savings will be available is somewhat in question, since the June promo provided the $0.20/gallon discount on a future purchase, and the August promo provided the savings on that day’s fill up.
Likely, this September promo follows the August promo, providing the savings on Tuesday’s purchase.
Here are the full terms, I’ve highlighted what I believe are the most important points:

- Offer available exclusively to the recipient of this email. [maybe?]
- To qualify for this offer you must 1) be a Fuel Rewards® member, 2) activate your offer through the Activate Offer button in this email between 9/17/2022 and 9/18/2022, and 3) fill up one (1) time with a minimum of at least five (5) gallons of fuel at a participating Shell station (a “Qualifying Purchase”) on 9/20/2022 (the “Offer Period”).
- Upon completing a Qualifying Purchase during the Offer Period, a 20¢/gal reward will be applied to one (1) fill up.
- The 20¢/gal reward can only be redeemed once during the Offer Period.
- Void where prohibited by law; only available in the U.S. Fuel Rewards® savings are limited to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase, per vehicle or fraud limits placed by Shell and/or limits placed on your payment card by your financial institution, each of which may be lower.
- Dispenser may require a price of up to 10.9¢ per gallon.
- For purchases of $75 or more, please go inside to pay.
- Unbranded diesel and alternative fuels may not be eligible.
- It may not be possible to combine multiple discounts and/or rewards in a single transaction.
- The Fuel Rewards® program is owned and operated by Excentus Corporation.
- Offer may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice.

Again, you must activate the $0.20 per gallon promo discount offer to be eligible.
And, of course, use a Fuel Rewards account linked credit card or sign in at the pump prior to filling up to ensure you get the discount.

Gold Status with Fuel Rewards gives members 5 cents off per gallon of gas up to 20 gallons per fill up, while Silver Status provides a 3 cent per gallon savings.
Once you’ve signed up for the Fuel Rewards program, simply swipe your Fuel Rewards card, your Single Swipe enabled payment card (credit card) or enter your Alt Id (usually it’s the phone number you provide when setting up the account) at the pump and your per gallon savings will automatically appear.
Additional per gallon savings can be had when you link to dining, shopping or other programs.

Just remember, it’s for Fuel Rewards members only, and you must activate the promotion on your account prior to end-of-day, Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Then, make your fuel purchase on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, to trigger the 20-cent per gallon discount.
