Select Amex Cardholders Can Save $30 off an Amazon Purchase of $60 or More with This American Express Promotion

Thanks to the American Express Membership Rewards program, targeted individuals will be able to use as little as $0.01 of  your Amex Membership Rewards points and save $30 on an Amazon purchase of $60 or more.

How It Works

If you haven’t already, you need to link your American Express Membership Rewards earning credit card to your Amazon account.

Then check to see if you are one of the lucky recipients of this Amazon deal.  Click this link to see eligibility/activate the offer.

Those lucky enough to have been targeted need to click the Activate button, and the promo deal will automatically be added to your account.

Add $60 or more to your Amazon cart – of eligible products, which is defined as products sold and shipped by Amazon.

When checking out, you need to use the American Express Membership Rewards earning credit card you linked to your Amazon account to pay.

And, you’ll need to use at least $0.01 of your available Membership Rewards points to trigger the Amex $30 discount.

Once completed, you’ll see a final checkout screen similar to this:

Important Points from the Terms are:

• The promotion runs through 12/31/2019, although Amazon can end or modify the promo at any time
• Offer is not available to American Express Membership Rewards eligible cards whose points have been previously used for purchases at Amazon.com in the past twelve months. (Although, this may not be enforced…it’s definitely worth a try if you’ve taken advantage of similar promotions within the past 12 months.)
• Offer does not apply to the purchase of digital content
• Amazon account must have been active for 30 days or longer

If you have multiple Amazon accounts, there have been reports that the same Amex Membership Rewards earning card can be linked to different accounts and be eligible on all accounts for the $30 off $60 promotion.

In past years, we’ve seen this promotion run a few times each year. The fact that its “good through” date is the end of this year may indicate this will be the only $30 off $60 promo opportunity for 2019. We’ll just have to see.

Bottom line, jump on this promo now as if it’s the only one we’ll be seeing for a while.
