Targeted credit card holders can enjoy savings on Amazon purchases when points and associated credit cards are used to make the purchase.

These credit cards, once added to your Amazon Wallet, may make the deals below available to you.

Unfortunately, as has been the case with previous deals like these, availability for any one card holder is very hit or miss. Some have been targeted for all deals, while others are shown no love when they click the activation page link, instead seeing the dreaded “Thank you for your interest in this offer. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this invitation-only offer” message.

For those who haven’t received these deals previously, give them another try. There are reports that those who weren’t targeted for one, or more, of these savings offers in the past, are now seeing them as available on their Amazon accounts.

If you still don’t see availability, try the trick below.

Sometimes removing a credit card from your Amazon Wallet, adding it back, re-enrolling it in Shop with Points and checking availability the next day will result in the deal becoming available. Sometimes not. But it’s worth a try if one or more of the deals listed below is of interest.

Now on to the deals themselves.

Chase Ultimate Rewards/Amazon Deal

The Chase / Amazon deal requires a Chase Ultimate Rewards points earning credit card be added as a payment method to your Amazon Wallet and enrolled in Amazon’s Shop with Points.

This is the same deal we saw from last November, and which has been continued periodically since then, targeting additional Chase cardholders. If you haven’t been able to use this deal already, check again to see if that’s changed.

The deal provides $15 off a purchase of $60 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com. With most of these deals, the items purchased MUST be sold and shipped by Amazon. You can check a product’s purchase page for that specific language.

How to take advantage of this deal.

Click the “Click to activate” button at the promotion activation page
Add $60 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon
Select your Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card as your payment method and use a portion of Ultimate Rewards points to pay. Less is usually better when trying to maximize the value of your UR points…$0.01 for example…however, the amount of points you want to use is completely up to you.
$15 of savings will be reflected on the final order page

American Express Membership Rewards / Amazon Deals

There are a few American Express / Amazon deals that may be available. All require an American Express Membership Rewards points earning credit card be added as a payment method to your Amazon Wallet and enrolled in Amazon’s Shop with Points.

Amex $30 Off $60

The first deal is a continuation deal, too. If you haven’t been targeted before, it’s worth checking again. And if you were able to use it previously, there have been reports of the deal working again during future tries.

Promo is the usual, save $30 on an Amazon order of $60 or more when at least one Membership Rewards point is used to pay. Of course, items must be sold and shipped by Amazon.

How to take advantage of this deal.

Click the “Click to activate” button on the promotion activation page.
Add $60 or more of eligible items to your Amazon shopping cart. Items must be sold and shipped by Amazon to qualify.
Checkout with your American Express card and use at least one Membership Rewards point to pay a portion of your order. As with the Chase UR points promo, to maximize points value, use the smallest amount possible…$0.01 as an example…to trigger the savings.
Discount will be reflected on the final order page.

Amex $30 Off $60 Link

Up to 25% Off Select Amazon Devices

Targeted Amex cardholders can also save up to 25% off select Amazon Devices when at least 1 Membership Rewards point is used to pay a portion of the order.

Like the other promotions, this is an invitation only offer. To receive your promotion credit you must:

Click on the button corresponding to the item you want to purchase to activate this promotion credit and apply points to your next order. Note that you will NOT receive the credit unless you click on this button.
Add one or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart.
Your Membership Rewards points will be temporarily set as your payment method at checkout. To redeem this offer, you must pay for at least a portion of your order with Membership Rewards points.
Savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page if the items in your order are eligible for the promotion credit.

Amex 25% off Select Amazon Devices

Save 20% Off Your Amazon Purchase

This targeted promotion provides 20% off your Amazon purchase of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com when at least 1 Membership Rewards point is used to pay.

There is a maximum discount of $50 associated with this promotion.

This promo will end 12/02/19 or once $5,000,000 worth of offers have been redeemed. So use this one quickly if you are targeted.

Amex Save 20% Off Your Amazon Purchase

Citi ThankYou Points / Amazon Deal

As with the other promotions, to be targeted you must have a Citi ThankYou Points earning credit card attached as a payment method in your Amazon Wallet and enrolled in Amazon’s Shop with Points.

The deal provides $15 off a purchase of $50 or more when at least one Citi ThankYou Point and your Citi ThankYou credit card are used to pay.

As with the other deals, eligible products for this savings deal must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com.

How to take advantage of the Citi / Amazon deal:

Click the “Click to activate” button on the promotional activation page.
Add $50 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart.
Checkout with your Citi ThankYou credit card and use at least one Citi ThankYou Point to pay for your order.
The $15 savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page if the item(s) in your order are eligible for the promo credit.

Discover Cashback Points / Amazon Deals

There are three different Discover credit card promotions for which availability may be checked.

Click the links above to see if you’ve been targeted for one or all of the Discover / Amazon deals.

If you have been targeted, activate the deal, add eligible products to your Amazon cart, using at least one Discover Cashback Bonus point to pay. You should see the appropriate discount reflected at checkout.

The restrictions on these promos are the same as the Chase, American Express and Citi promotions. Eligible products must be shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

A Caution

For the deals that require points to activate the savings, a caution.

Be VERY CAREFUL to limit the number of points used to pay.

It can be easy to mistakenly use all points to pay, which would lower your price-to-pay significantly, but completely wipe out your valuable rewards points balance.

As we mention in the specifics of each deal, it’s best to use the least amount of points necessary to trigger these types of deals.

So when checking out, be sure you’re NOT using all your points to pay unless that’s what you really want to do.
