There is a new Amazon/American Express Membership Rewards points promotion that can save targeted Amazon accounts 20% off an Amazon purchase.

This promo has a discount max of $30.

And is good through 3/31/2021, or once 17,000 customers have redeemed the promo.

As with all these Amazon/credit card savings opportunities, the following criteria are required to redeem the savings promo.

• Your Amazon account must be targeted for the promotion
• You must add the promo to your Amazon account
• You must use at least 1 Membership Rewards point during the payment process to trigger the discount
• Offer only applies to items shipped and sold by Amazon.com

Amazon/American Express 20% Off Promotion

For those new to these Amazon/credit card savings promos...this American Express promo in particular... you must have your Membership Rewards earning Amex card added to your Amazon Wallet as a payment option AND enrolled in Amazon's Shop with Points program.

Only then can you check if your Amazon account has this promotion attached to it.

If it does, 20% off is a pretty good deal.

And, I always like to point out that the requirement that only items shipped and sold by Amazon.com qualify for the discount is not really a huge restriction.  Many everyday items like food products, paper towels, toilet paper and even third-party gift cards like Netlflix, Starbucks, PetSmart, etc., qualify for this discount...as long as your Amazon account has been targeted, that is.

So if you don't have a purchase in mind, you can always use the discount to stock up on everyday use products and save 20% in the process.

The end date for this promo is March 31, 2021, but these promos typically get extended, with additional Amazon accounts becoming eligible along the way.  It pays to keep checking if your Amazon account isn't initially targeted for the discount.
