Extend Your Sam’s Club Membership by Three Months for Free
Update 1/12: Language has now been added to the sign-up screen for the 3-month extension/membership rebate stating it’s for those affected by Sam’s Club store closures only. It still might be worth submitting your 3-month extension request, just know it might be rejected if your Sam’s Club isn’t one of the ones closing.
Sam’s Club is offering members the opportunity to extend memberships by 3 months for doing nothing more than submitting a request.
This likely is in response to Sam’s Club announcing yesterday it is closing 60+ Sam’s Club locations across the U.S. Promoting 3 free months is a way to temper the news of the closings and keep members who may have been swayed to leave Sam’s Club as a result.
Membership Fee Refunds
Of course, some members may want to leave Sam’s Club because the store at which they shop is closing. Which is likely why Sam’s is giving the option to get membership fees refunded, too.
You can receive a full refund of your membership fees in the form of a Sam’s Club e-gift card or via check. The e-gift card will take 7 business days to receive while the check will take up to 6 weeks.
Reports indicate you can cancel your membership with this offer, receive your full refund, but still have an active membership until your membership expiration date.
Doesn’t help if your store is closing and there are no other Sam’s Clubs nearby. But, for some, canceling, getting a full refund of your membership fees, and still having an active membership for a period of time may be of interest.
To take advantage of the 3-month membership extension, or one of the membership refunds, you must fill out and submit a form to Sam’s Club.
