Earn American Airlines Miles on Your Vivid Seats Ticket Purchases

Vivid Seats, an online ticket marketplace, has teamed with American Airlines to offer AAdvantage miles on ticket purchases made on the Vivid Seats website.

American AAdvantage members will earn at least 3 AAdvantage miles per dollar spent, excluding taxes, fees and insurance products, on tickets purchased via Vivid Seats.

I say “at least” since the Vivid Seats/American Airlines ad copy shows 3+, and when you go to purchase tickets, the 3 miles/dollar math doesn’t exactly add up…see the screenshot below.

Nevertheless, the bottom line is you can earn American Airlines miles on your Vivid Seats ticket purchases.

All you have to do is start off at the American Airlines section of Vivid Seats…american.vividseats.com…find the tickets you want to purchase, enter your AAdvantage number and just like that, you’ll add miles to your AAdvantage account.

Whether you’re interested in tickets to sporting events, concerts, comedy shows or the theater, Vivid Seats seems to have them all.

And for each purchase, you get the added benefit of earning American miles.

Since Vivid Seats is basically an online ticket reseller, pricing can be more random than not.

I would definitely price compare with other sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek to ensure you’re getting a good deal on the tickets you want.

Definitely do not let the fact that you’ll earn American Airlines miles sway you to purchases on Vivid Seats without first considering the value you’ll be getting as compared to other ticket purchase options.

To be blunt, American Airlines miles just aren’t worth it.

But, for those who do value AAdvantage miles, and find a decent ticket deal on Vivid Seats, why not get a little extra for your purchase.
