Dunkin’ Rewards Program Changes for 2024 – Some May Be Happy, Others Not So Much

The Dunkin’ Rewards program has made a few changes to its redemption options for 2024.

Depending on your redemption preferences, some may be happy with the changes, while others – like me – are not.

Dunkin’ Rewards Program Redemption Options

Old Program

  • 150 points – Li’l Treats (One espresso shot added to a drink, 3-count MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treats or 6-count hash browns)
  • 250 points – Donuts (One classic donut)
  • 400 points – Tea (A small, medium, or large hot or iced tea)
  • 500 points – Coffee (A small, medium, or large hot or iced coffee)
  • 600 points – Bites & Bagels (A Wake-Up Wrap® with or without meat, or a bagel with spread)
  • 700 points – Crafted Drinks (A small, medium or large hot or iced, espresso, Cold Brew, Cold Brew with Cold Foam, or Dunkin’ Refresher)
  • 800 Breakfast Sandwiches (A breakfast sandwich with your choice of meat, egg, cheese and bread)
  • 900 points – Premium Sips (Any size frozen drink or Signature Latte — hot or iced)

New Program 2024

  • 150 points – Li’l Treats (3-count MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats or 6-count hash browns.)
  • 250 points – Donuts (One classic donut)
  • 400 points – Tea (A small, medium, or large hot or iced tea)
  • 500 points – Coffee and Cold Brew (A small, medium or large hot or iced coffee or Cold Brew)
  • 600 points – Bites & Bagels (A Wake-Up Wrap® with or without meat, or a bagel with spread)
  • 700 points – Non-Coffee Drinks (A small, medium or large Dunkin’ Refresher, Hot Chocolate or hot or iced Chai Latte or Matcha Latte)
  • 800 Breakfast Sandwiches (A breakfast sandwich with your choice of meat, egg, cheese and bread)
  • 900 points – Espresso and Frozen Drinks (Any size hot or iced espresso or frozen drink)

The main differences are:

Espresso shots are removed as a redemption option.

Cold Brew drinks are added to the 500 point redemption level, a 200 point reduction.

Hot chocolate and hot or iced Chai Latte or Matcha Lattes are added to the 700 point level.

The big change for me, and others likely, is the move from 700 to 900 points for espresso (lattes, macchiatos, etc.) drinks.

Will this change my Dunkin’ behavior? Probably not. After the last change to the Dunkin’ Rewards program, my interest waned from obtaining outsized value to just getting something for the spend I decide to give every once in a while.

Add in the removal of the Shell Fuel Rewards program as a partner – another benefit that I used for occasional savings – and I definitely won’t view the Dunkin’ Rewards program as something that gives me financial benefit.

Which probably is the point of these changes. Dunkin’ wants to give customers something to make them feel appreciated, but not enough to hurt its bottom line too much.

How about you? How do you feel about these latest changes? Will your Dunkin’ behavior change as a result?
