My Thoughts and More Details
Hilton Honors Points
There are three Hilton Honors points packages available. Below are the packages, pricing, and total number available to purchase.
- 30,000 Hilton Honors points. Price: $150 (450 Available)
- 100,000 Hilton Honors points. Price: $500 (275 Available)
- 250,000 Hilton Honors points. Price: $1,250 (220 Available)
Only one set of points may be purchased for the 100,000 and 250,000 point packages, with the 30,000 point package allowing for 3 sets to be purchased. A total of up to 5 sets of points can be purchased across all packages.
You must be a Hilton Honors member to purchase, and deposits of purchased points to your Honors account may take 3-4 weeks.
If you’re not familiar with the Hilton Honors program, definitely go to hilton.com, search for a destination/hotel at which you’d like to stay and see the number of points required. Hilton’s redemption amounts can be ridiculously high depending on the specific property and date of travel.
Which means, purchasing points outside of beefing up your current balance for a particular redemption may not be the smartest move.
A quick example: a one-night stay at the Hilton Singer Island (Florida) Resort – 1 king bed partial oceanview room (early May) prices at $322 or 135,000 Hilton points.
You definitely have to look for bargains when using Hilton Honors points for free hotel stays.
Wyndham Hotels Reward Night
This deal is for 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points.
Price: $175
Available: 1,143
Wyndham’s loyalty program prices free nights, no matter the hotel you choose, at 15,000 points per night. So a purchase of this deal is really the purchase of a free night at any Wyndham property.
There is a purchase limit of 2 sets of points per Wyndham Rewards member number.
Obviously, you’ll only want to purchase this deal if the property at which you want to stay is priced per night more – and I’d say substantially more – than $175. A search on wyndhamhotels.com can help make that determination.
Las Vegas Packages
There are five Las Vegas deals up for grabs.
- 2-night getaway for 2 to New York-New York. Two nights in a Spa Suite, two tickets to Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil, dinner for two (2) at Gallagher’s Steakhouse. $30+ tax daily resort fee not included. Price: $475 (8 Available)
- 3-nights at Bellagio. Three nights in a Bellagio Suite, two tickets to “O” by Cirque du Soleil, one dinner for 2 at a Bellagio fine dining restaurant (up to $400), two spa treatments and airport transfers. Price: $2,000 (8 Available)
- 4-nights at Luxor. Four nights in a Tower Premium Room, two tickets to The Blue Man Group, $400 food and beverage credit for select Luxor restaurants. Price: $500 (7 Available)
- 3-nights at Mandalay Bay. Three nights in a one-bedroom Sky View Suite, 2 tickets to Michael Jackson ONE a Cirque du Soleil® show, 2 dinners for two people at a restaurant of your choice inside Mandalay Bay, 2 50-minute massages (one per guest) at Spa Mandalay and airport transfers. Price: $1,700 (8 Available)
- 4-nights at Excalibur. Four nights in a Contemporary Room at Excalibur, 2 tickets to Tournament of Kings and a $400 dining credit at Camelot Steakhouse. Price: $475 (7 Available)
If you’re interested in any of these Las Vegas package deals, be sure to read the Terms and Conditions associated with each prior to purchase. Most have blackout dates and redemption requirements of which you should be aware.
Click here to get to the Week Two page and then select the package you’re interested in purchasing for its details.
Hertz Rentals
You’ll be purchasing Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points which will be deposited into your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account. The points, once deposited, can be used for any redemption you want, even though the individual deals define them in terms of a specific rental/rental period.
There are 3 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points packages up for grabs:
- 5,500 Hertz points (one week standard rental). Price: $280 (45 Available)
- 13,200 Hertz points (weekend Prestige Collection rental). Price: $560 (35 Available)
- 16,500 Hertz points (one week Prestige Collection rental). Price: $698 (50 Available)
Each individual Hertz member number is limited to one set of points per deal, and a maximum of 3 sets of points per member across all deals.
Whether or not these are good deals depends on how you’ll redeem the Hertz points.
A 5-day minimum, weekly rental (compact to premium car) prices at 2,750 points for a Standard Reward and 5,500 points for an AnyDay Reward.
A 6-day Full Size rental out of San Diego in mid June prices at $422 for pay-later, or $347 if you pay when booked. Considering the 5,500 points package only costs $280, you’d be getting a deal by purchasing the points for this specific rental example.
You can view the points needed for individual rental periods here. And then price your desired rental to see if buying one of these Hertz points packages makes sense for you.
You’ll need to be a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member to purchase one of these deals, and you should review the Terms and Conditions of these packages prior to purchasing.

As with any hotel deal, whether you’ll be getting a good value depends on the specific property at which you want to stay, and the going rate for the date(s) you plan on booking.
If you have upcoming travel plans, check the details page to see participating properties and then look at the rates during your travel period. If the price of the deal is lower than what you’d otherwise pay, then grab the deal.
A quick example of the 2-night Weekend Escape Omni Hotel Getaway Deal:
Deal Price: $245
2-night stay at the Omni Riverfront Hotel, New Orleans – October 19-21 (Friday-Sunday) Total Price (room and taxes) $499.94!
So, in this case, the deal really is a deal!
