Chase Freedom’s 2016 Second Quarter Bonus Categories Begin Tomorrow
The second quarter bonus categories for the Chase Freedom credit card begin tomorrow, April 1, 2016.
Freedom’s second quarter bonus categories include:
- Grocery stores – not including Walmart and Target
- Wholesale clubs such as BJs and Sam’s Club
All purchases made in these categories earn 5% cash back – or my favorite, 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent – on up to $1,500 in combined purchases.
Bonus earnings on grocery store and wholesale club purchases will run through June 30, 2016.

Personally, the grocery store bonus category is where I can always max out the $1,500 spend and earn 7,500 valuable Ultimate Rewards points. If plain old grocery purchases over that 3 month period can’t do it, most grocery stores have a huge selection of gift cards to help hit that max spend threshold.
