Build Your Starwood Points Balance with This Offer

Holders of the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express (personal and business) are being offered, for a limited time, an easy way to build Starpoints balances.

As I’ve written before in my review of the SPG American Express card, Starwood points are extremely valuable in that not only can they be used for free stays at Starwood Preferred Guest properties, but can also be transferred at a 1:1 rate to many airlines to boost your frequent flyer balances. And, for every 20,000 Starpoints that you transfer to an airline partner, you’re automatically given a 5,000-point bonus.

Referral Bonus

The SPG Amex card has always offered a benefit that if the cardholder refers someone to the card, and they are approved, a 5,000-point bonus is awarded to the referring cardholder’s Starwood account. Which is a really nice benefit.

Until June 15, 2016, the referral bonus has been increased to 10,000 Starpoints per approved referral, up to a total of 55,000 bonus points.

If you hold the Starwood American Express card, and know anyone who might be interested in applying, now’s the time to make the pitch. They get a 25,000 point sign-up bonus after meeting the $3,000 minimum spend, and you get 10,000 points for yourself. Now that’s a good deal.
