Be on the Lookout for the Newly Introduced Chase Offers
|Okay, let’s try this one more time.
About this time last year, Chase jumped into the “Offers” game on its Marriott Rewards Premier and Slate credit cards only.
Similar to American Express’ Amex Offers, Chase Offers provided a percentage savings, or a straight up dollar savings, when Offers were added to your credit card and purchases were made at the designated retailer, meeting specified spending thresholds.
And then, about four months later, it jumped out of the “Offers” game with a tease that “Offers” might be back in the future.
Sure enough, about a month later, in April of 2018, Chase re-introduced its “Offers,” but this time only on the Chase Hyatt Credit Card.
And then, again, Chase ended its Offers program with little fanfare and no indication it might return at a future date.
Chase Offers Part Three
Until a recent buzz was started in the Miles and Points community about a third coming of Chase Offers.
The rumor goes, all Chase consumer (not business) credit cards will now have access to Chase Offers, providing the opportunity to save on purchases at specific retailers.
The difference from the previous incarnations of Chase Offers, and Amex Offers for that matter, is that the to-be-introduced version of Chase Offers will be more targeted toward cardholders’ spending patterns, thus providing better opportunities to save.
We’ll have to see if that truly is the case. If so, that would be a welcome addition to the Chase Offers landscape.
The downside, as the rumor goes, is that Chase Offers will only be able to be loaded to a specific credit card using either the Chase Pay App, or the Chase Mobile Banking App.
Obviously, if true, this is an attempt by Chase to push its clientele into the mobile banking arena…at least if they want to save some money using Chase Offers.
For some, it won’t be that big of a deal. For others, it’ll mean forgoing Chase Offers altogether.
It would be nice if Chase included website access to Offers as it did with its previous attempts, and as American Express currently does.
We’ll just have to see how this shakes out.
Which shouldn’t be too long at this point.
It had been “put out there” that Offers would be coming sometime between November 11, 2018, and November 19, 2018. Or, any time now.
In addition to finding Offers on the apps, it’s likely Chase will also be emailing Offers to cardholders. So keep an eye on those Chase emails in the coming week.
Of course, once details on the new Chase Offers program are officially released, we’ll provide a write-up so all Savings Beagle readers with Chase consumer credit cards can take full advantage of what will hopefully be a lucrative and long-term money-saving opportunity.
