Amex Offers for Summer Travel 2018

American Express has added a number of travel-related Amex Offers to its listings that may save those of you planning to travel this summer a little bit of cash.  Or, in one instance, add a nice chunk of American Express Membership Rewards to your account balance.

As I always note, Amex Offers are usually targeted to individual cardholders based on a “secret” formula to which only American Express is privy.  Check your personal American Express account(s) to see if you’ve been targeted for any of the summer travel deals listed below.

And, as with anything, the details matter.  If you’re interested in any of the Offers, and have them available on your account, be sure to read the associated fine print of an Offer prior to taking advantage.  Some restrictions can be onerous, making the deal not quite as good as it originally seemed.

Now on to the good stuff.

Summer Travel Amex Offers

Hilton – Spend $300 or more and get 3,500 Membership Rewards points

Get 3,500 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled American Express card to spend a minimum of $300 on room rate and room charges at Hilton properties by 6/30/18.

Offer is valid at Hilton properties in the U.S. and U.S. territories only and reservations must be made online at hilton.com, via the Hilton Honors app or by calling 1-800-445-8667.

If you’re planning on staying at a Hilton property soon, this is an easy way to rack up a nice amount of Membership Rewards points.

MGM Resorts – Spend $300 or more and get $60 back

Get a one-time $60 statement credit by using your enrolled Amex card to spend $300+ on room rate and room charges at MGM Resorts.

Offer valid at Bellagio®, ARIA®, Vdara®, MGM Grand®, The Signature at MGM Grand®, Mandalay Bay® , Delano® Las Vegas, Park MGM®, The Mirage®, New York-New York®, Luxor®, Excalibur®, Beau Rivage®, Gold Strike®, Borgata® and MGM National Harbor®.

Reservations must be made directly through MGM Resorts online at mlife.com, by phone, or via the mobile app.

All other MGM Resorts are excluded from this Offer.

Omni Hotels & Resorts – Spend $250 or more and get $50 back

Get a one-time $50 statement credit by using your enrolled American Express card to spend $250 or more on room rate and room charges at Omni Hotels & Resorts from 5/15/18 to 9/10/18.

Offer valid at Omni Hotels and Resorts in the U.S. only.  Reservations must be made online at omnihotels.com or by calling 1-800-843-6664.

Best Western – Spend $100 or more and get $20 back

Use your enrolled Amex card to spend $100 or more on room rate/charges at a Best Western property and get a one-time statement credit of $20.

This Offer is valid from 6/8/18 to 8/8/18 and is good at all Best Western properties in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort – Spend $500 or more and get $100 back

GroundLink – Spend $150 or more and get $50 back

Don’t want to drive to the airport and pay for parking?  GroundLink might be worth considering.  You can schedule a car/limo to pick you up at home, drop you at the airport and then get you when you come back from your trip.  Availability may be an issue depending on where you live, so check groundlink.com to see if it’s in your area.

As for the Offer, simply use your enrolled American Express card to spend a minimum of $150 in one or more transactions online at groundlink.com by 8/13/18 and get a one-time $50 statement credit.

Rover – Spend $75 or more and get $20 back

Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled American Express card to spend a minimum of $75 in one or more transactions online at Rover.com. Offer must be used by 8/16/18.

If you’re not familiar, Rover.com is an online aggregator of individuals who perform various dog-related services.  You can search by zip code/address for people who walk, board, have doggie daycares, perform drop-ins, as well as house sit for your pooch.  Rover performs background checks and offers insurance on services booked on the site.

If you already have a preferred sitter listed on Rover, all you have to do is book and pay via Rover.com and you’ll get the statement credit when the minimum spend is met.
