Amazon is Offering a Lower Priced Prime Membership for Medicaid Recipients
|Last summer we reported that Amazon was offering its Prime service at a lower monthly rate for households holding a valid Electronic Benefits Transfer card.
Amazon has announced it is adding individuals who hold a Medicaid card to the list of those eligible for a lower priced Amazon Prime membership fee, as well.
Prime is just $5.99 per month for qualifying customers with an EBT or Medicaid card.
Once eligibility is confirmed by providing a valid Medicaid number, individuals can sign up for the reduced priced Amazon Prime membership.
This membership provides all the benefits associated with the regularly priced Amazon Prime membership, including:
- Free two-day shipping on eligible items
- Streaming of movies and TV shows
- On-demand music streaming
- Discounts on select items (20% off diaper subscriptions through Amazon Family)
- Free 2-hour delivery of Prime Now household items and essentials – where available
At sign-up, and every twelve months thereafter, individuals must qualify to receive the lower Amazon Prime membership price. Recipients are only eligible to receive this price for four years from the date of first sign-up.
The $5.99 + tax per month membership fee is automatically billed, but can be canceled at any time.
