Amex Offers – November 2018 (Part 2)

In a post titled “American Express Offers – A Great Way to Save” I wrote about the great savings opportunities that can be found if you are an American Express cardholder.

Here are a few recent additions to Amex Offers that could save you some cold, hard cash on your holiday gift giving and travels.  Offers may be targeted, so check your account for availability.

And always be sure to read the fine print of the individual Offers to make sure you’re not missing some important requirements.

Savings for Our Furry Friends

Chewy.com – SPEND $49 OR MORE AND GET $15 BACK

All pet owners know even our four-foot friends get a holiday gift or two this time of year.

Chewy.com carries a wide array of toys, treats and comfort items, in addition to food and healthcare products, for that best friend.

This Amex Offer will provide a nice savings no matter what you decide to buy.

1-800-PetMeds – SPEND $100 OR MORE AND GET $15 BACK

Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Amex card to spend $100 or more in one or more transactions online at 1800petmeds.com by 2/18/2019.

1-800-Petmeds, like Chewy.com, carries much more than what its name might lead you to believe.  You can purchase various brands of food, treats, toys and much, much more for your pup or kitty.

While this Offer isn’t quite as lucrative as the Chewy Offer, I’m sure, considering the expiration date on this Offer, you’ll be able to take advantage of both – if you wish – without too much effort.

Holiday Gift Buying

Saks Fifth Avenue – SPEND $250 OR MORE AND GET $50 BACK

Spend $250 or more in one or more transactions in-store at Saks Fifth Avenue or online at saks.com by 1/14/19 and receive a one-time $50 statement credit.

If you have this Offer on a personal American Express Platinum card, you should be able to stack this Offer with the semi-annual $50 Shop Saks with Platinum benefit (you must enroll to trigger this benefit).  Which means you should be able to get $250 worth of Saks merchandise for only $150.  Remember, the Shop Saks with Platinum benefit allows for a $50 statement credit July – December, and then another $50 statement credit January – June.

This Offer excludes Off 5th (outlets) and restaurants located within Saks.

The Terms also state the Offer is “Not valid for e-gift card purchases.”  It does not seem to exclude Saks gift cards purchased in-store, though.

Ralph Lauren – SPEND $250 OR MORE AND GET $50 BACK

Get a one-time $50 statement credit when you use your enrolled Amex card to spend $250 or more in one or more transactions in-store at Ralph Lauren or online at ralphlauren.com by 12/31/18.

Dean and Deluca – SPEND $75 OR MORE AND GET $20 BACK

Spend $75 or more in one or more transactions online at  www.deandeluca.com by 1/31/2019 and get a one-time $20 statement credit when you use your enrolled Amex card to pay.

Excludes transactions made in-store or via third party payment processors.

The Container Store – SPEND $150 OR MORE AND GET $30 BACK

Get a one-time $30 statement credit by using your enrolled card to spend $150 or more in one or more transactions in-store at The Container Store or online at containerstore.com by 12/31/18.

Offer is not valid for e-gift card purchases and excludes installation and Contained Home® organization services.

Boxed – SPEND $75 OR MORE AND GET $20 BACK

If you’re not familiar with Boxed, it’s an online wholesale club that doesn’t charge fees. Boxed’s goal is to “make shopping for bulk easy, convenient and fun, so you can focus on the things that really matter.”

Being able to save $20 on a $75 purchase of items you’ll likely use on a regular basis is a pretty good deal.  Give ’em a look if you haven’t already.
