Do You Eat Out a Lot and Have an American Express Credit Card? This Referral Deal is for You!
|American Express is offering a pretty nice referral deal for Membership Rewards earning cards now through May 22, 2024.
In addition to the regular points that are earned for your particular Amex card referral, you’ll also earn 10 extra Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at restaurants for 3 months on up to $25,000 of spend.
For example, if you hold the American Express Gold Card, which regularly earns 4 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at restaurants, taking advantage of this referral promo will have you earning 14 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at restaurants for the 3 months following your successful referral.
If you eat out regularly, this could be a huge points earning opportunity on spend you’ll be making anyway.
And if you have large dining purchases – think multiple business meals, catering events that code as a restaurant, etc. – this could be major. If maxed out, you could earn 350,000 Membership Rewards points using the Gold Card as your referral card.
This deal can only be taken advantage of once, unfortunately.
And keep in mind, only the person referring will receive the bonus Membership Rewards points on dining purchases.
The person using the referral link will earn the sign-up bonus associated with that particular referral offer (seen once the referral link is clicked).
Savings Beagle Amex Referral Example
As an example, I hold the American Express Blue Business Plus Credit Card.
My referral link shows you can earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3,000 in 3 months on the Blue Business Plus card.
And if you were to use my link to successfully apply, I’d earn the bonus 10 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent on dining for 3 months after you were approved, while you’d earn the 15,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3,000 in 3 months.
But, if you don’t want a business credit card, you can also apply for a personal American Express card via that link by selecting the “Personal Cards” link on the top of the landing page.
A few of the available options include:
Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card – 70,000 SkyMiles after spending $3,000 in 6 months
Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card – 130,000 Hilton Honors points after spending $3,000 in 6 months
Blue Cash Preferred Card – $250 cash back after spending $3,000 in 6 months – earn 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets up to $6,000 annually, 6% back on select streaming services and 3% back on transit purchases
Links in this post are my referral links, providing me a referral bonus, including the 10x dining points offer, for approved applications. Thanks if you use my links to apply.
There are plenty of other personal, and business, credit cards from which to pick.
Once you’re an American Express cardholder, you should be able to refer others to Amex cards and grab this 10x bonus points at restaurants referral deal for yourself. As long as you can refer before the promotion’s end date of May 22nd.
And, the card you applied for is a Membership Rewards earning card.
The Delta, Hilton and Blue Cash are not Membership Rewards earning cards. I only used those as examples.
Current Amex Cardholders
Of course, if you’re already an Amex cardholder, generate the latest referral link and send it to friends and family who would be interested in getting a new Amex credit card.
They’ll get the current referral sign-up bonus and you’ll get the 10x referral points bonus.
Just remember, this promo appears to only be available on Membership Rewards earning cards such as the Gold, Platinum, EveryDay card, etc. Cards such as the Delta, Hilton and Marriott co-branded cards aren’t showing the 10x bonus points offer for referrals at this point.
What do you think of this referral offer? Good enough for you to refer others, or not a big deal?
