Last Few Days to Get Free At-Home Covid-19 Tests From the U.S. Government

Since the U.S. government began offering free at-home Covid-19 tests in January of 2022, there have been three rounds during which households could order free at-home tests.

Last week, the U.S. government announced it would be ending the free at-home test program on Friday, September 2, 2022.

If you’ve not taken advantage of all three rounds of free tests, you can make a final order prior to the September 2 end date to stock up if you want.

You can view the official government Covid Tests page to begin your order and/or get more information on Covid testing at the link below.

Insurance Coverage of Tests

While the government has suspended the free at-home Covid-19 test offering, those with private health insurance may be able to order free Covid tests from their insurance company. Or, get reimbursed for the purchase price of up to 8 at-home tests each month if your insurance company isn’t providing them directly.

You’ll need to log in to your insurance company’s website to see its current policy regarding free at-home Covid-19 tests.
