Turn Those Unwanted Gift Cards into Cash at Card Cash

When it comes to gift giving, it’s the thought that really counts.

But, while the sentiment is appreciated, you still may be left with a gift that just isn’t “right.”

With clothes, electronics, books, etc., usually you can return them for something more appropriate.

With gift cards, especially those that are retailer-specific, it’s not quite as easy.

Unless you’re familiar with Card Cash, that is.

Card Cash

Card Cash is an online marketplace where individuals can sell (or buy) a wide variety of gift cards.

Buyers can purchase gift cards at a discounted rate – usually 5% off face value.

And sellers can get cash – the amount varies depending on the retailer – for the gift cards they’re just not going to use.

Sell Your Gift Card to Card Cash

The process of selling gift cards is fairly straight forward and easy.

Simply set up an account with Card Cash and you’re ready to sell.

The only unique part of the account set up process is you’ll be asked to add a credit card to the account prior to selling your gift card(s).

Adding a credit card, even though you’re just selling, is a fraud protection measure on Card Cash’s part.

There are some unscrupulous individuals who may sell a gift card to Card Cash and then liquidate the card’s balance after they’ve received Card Cash’s payment. A valid credit card deters such actions, and in the extreme, acts as a way for Card Cash to get their money back.

Once your account is set up, submit your gift card – some gift cards must be mailed to Card Cash, but many can be transferred by entering the gift card number and pin into the Card Cash website.

The pre-determined payment is usually processed in 24-48 hours, with mailed in gift cards, obviously, taking a bit longer.

Payments are made via your choice of a check in the mail, bank ACH deposit or Paypal.

Or, you can trade your gift card for another retailer’s gift card on the Card Cash site. In many cases, trading up will provide a little better “return” on your money. Just make sure it’s for a gift card you’re actually going to use.

Below are a few of Card Cash’s currently offered prices for $50 gift cards.

You can check if Card Cash is buying your retailer’s gift card, and the amount they’re offering, at the link below. Checking an offer can be done without setting up a Card Cash account.

Wrap Up

Card Cash provides the opportunity for liquidating unwanted gift cards that are somewhat prevalent this time of year.

I’ve used Card Cash in the past, and have been very happy with the selling process.

Account set up was very quick and once my gift card was submitted, confirmation of the transaction occurred within an hour, and payment was made that same day into my Paypal account.

The process couldn’t have been easier. And the price they paid was more than fair.

So, if you were on the receiving end of a less-than-desirable gift card this holiday season, give Card Cash a look and you just might end up holding cold, hard cash instead of that never-to-be-used gift card.
