World of Hyatt Members Can Now Book Free Nights at Small Luxury Hotels of the World Properties
|In early August of this year, Hyatt and Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), a high-end collection of boutique hotels, announced plans to begin an alliance that would allow World of Hyatt members the opportunity to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at participating SLH hotels.
The Hyatt / SLH Alliance
The details of the alliance have now been worked out, and booking of stays at SLH properties begins today for stays starting December 6, 2018.
World of Hyatt members will earn 5 Base Points for every $1 spent on qualifying room rates.
Members can also enjoy the following benefits when staying at a participating SLH hotel.
- Complimentary continental breakfast
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Early check-in 12:00 p.m. (based on availability at check-in)
- Late check-out 2:00 p.m. (based on availability at check-in)
- One category room upgrade (based on availability at check-in)
To enjoy these benefits and earn World of Hyatt points for your stay at an SLH property, bookings must be made through a Hyatt booking channel.
You can view participating SLH properties, and book your stay, at the link below.
Many of the currently participating SLH properties are located in Europe, with a few in Malaysia and one in China.
The announcement states that “…new SLH hotels are being added so keep checking back.”
The SLH portfolio includes over 500 properties worldwide, with over 25 located in the U.S. Hopefully many of those properties, too, will be available in the near future for booking with Hyatt points.
Earning World of Hyatt Points
Of course, World of Hyatt points can be earned by booking and paying for stays at Hyatt properties.
For those who aren’t business, or full-time, travelers the better option for earning World of Hyatt points is through credit card sign-up bonuses and strategic, ongoing spend on those credit cards.
You can read our review of the World of Hyatt credit card in which we cover the details of the card, as well as other ways to build your World of Hyatt points balance.
Wrap Up
Hyatt is a top-tier hotel chain with fantastic properties from which to choose.
If there is a downside to the Hyatt brand, it’s that its footprint, or number of hotels, is limited when compared to Marriott, Hilton, etc.
Hyatt’s affiliation with Small Luxury Hotels of the World is one step toward expanding its reach and allowing its loyalty members the opportunity to visit locales that have thus far been unavailable to those wanting to earn points and redeem those points for free stays.
Good job, Hyatt. The addition of SLH properties to the World of Hyatt program is much appreciated.
