Use Citi ThankYou Points to Save 20% on Your Amazon Purchase

Select Citi ThankYou Points earning credit card holders can enjoy a 20% savings on Amazon purchases when points are used to make the purchase.

Unfortunately, as has been the case with previous deals like these, availability for any one card holder is very hit or miss.

If you’re not targeted, you’ll see the dreaded “Thank you for your interest in this offer. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this invitation-only offer” message after clicking the deal link below.

Sometimes removing a credit card from your Amazon Wallet, adding it back, re-enrolling it in Shop with Points and checking availability the next day will result in the deal becoming available.  Sometimes not.  But it’s worth a try if this Citi/Amazon deal is of interest.

Now on to the deal itself.

Citi ThankYou Points / Amazon Deal

Citi ThankYou / Amazon 20% Off Deal Link

The deal provides 20% off an eligible purchase(s) at Amazon by using ThankYou Points to pay for part, or all, of your purchase.

As with any of these credit card/Amazon savings deals, the less points used, the better. Typically, I recommend using 1 point only to trigger the savings aspect of the deal.

And, as is also normal with these deals, “eligible purchases” are defined as products “sold and shipped by Amazon.” Which, covers a wide variety of products on the Amazon site. Just make sure you see those exact words for the products you want to buy with this deal.

The maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $30

And, the promotion will end 11:59PM PST on 09/30/2020, or when the cumulative value of redeemed promotion codes reaches $250,000, whichever is earlier.

Activation links in this post are Amazon affiliate links.  Any purchases made via these links (after activation) would provide Savings Beagle a small commission.  Affiliate links do not change product pricing.

A Caution

For the deals that require points to activate the savings, a caution.

Be VERY CAREFUL to limit the number of points used to pay.

It can be easy to mistakenly use all points to pay, which would lower your price-to-pay significantly, but completely wipe out your valuable rewards points balance.

As we mention in the specifics of each deal, it’s best to use the least amount of points necessary to trigger these types of deals.

So when checking out, be sure you’re NOT using all your points to pay unless that’s what you really want to do.

Have you had success with this Citi ThankYou Points deal?
