There’s a new 21-day free trial with a $21 savings off your first month’s payment of YouTube TV deal available – you can read about it here – but it’s only good for the next few days (December 9, 2020).

YouTube TV is one of the many live-TV streaming media options for those wanting to free themselves from high-cost cable or satellite subscriptions.

And for a limited time – September 5, 2019 through September 8, 2019new YouTube TV users can sign-up for a 21-day free trial of the live-TV streaming service.

This offer must be redeemed by September 8, 2019, and a valid form of payment will be required at sign-up. It will not be charged, however, until the trial period ends.

You can cancel at any time before the trial is over to avoid being charged the regular monthly subscription price.

And, you must have a Google account to sign-up for YouTube TV.

While you can typically try any streaming service – YouTube TV included – for a week free of charge, this 21-day promotion provides the opportunity to get a little more engaged with the platform to see if streaming your TV (in this case using YouTube TV) is right for you.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV launched early in 2017, and we wrote a piece covering the basics.

Some aspects of YouTube TV have remained the same, while others have improved. And with those improvements, YouTube TV has decided…as have many of the streaming services…to raise subscription pricing.

Back when it launched, YouTube TV priced at $35 per month.

Currently, YouTube TV charges $49.99 per month.

While a significant price increase, it is a relative bargain when compared to regularly priced cable or satellite service.

What do you get for $49.99 a month? Here’s a quick look.

Channels

YouTube TV offers 70+ channels of live TV.

Specific channel lineups are based on subscribers’ Zip code, with many locations receiving live local network channels (ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox).

You can input your Zip code on the YouTube TV main webpage to check your specific channel lineup.

DVR

YouTube TV offers a DVR with unlimited storage space.

There is no limit on simultaneous recordings, you can stream your DVR library wherever you go and recordings will be kept for 9 months.

Accounts

YouTube TV can be shared with your family by utilizing up to 6 individual accounts.

Each account can have personalized watch recommendations and a customized live guide.

Additionally, 3 streams can be watched simultaneously. This is nice when certain household members want to watch different shows airing at the same time.

How to Watch

You can watch YouTube TV on a variety of devices, including your TV, computer, tablet and smartphone.

Smart televisions should have the YouTube TV app already available, simply select the app, log in to your account and you’ll be able to watch all your YouTube TV channels on your big screen.

If you don’t have a smart TV, no problem, you’ll just need to buy a streaming media player like Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV or the like and connect it to your television. You’ll then access the YouTube TV app via the streaming media player which will broadcast YouTube TV lineup on your television.

You can view all the YouTube TV supported devices at this link.

No Commitment

And, of course, there are no contracts with YouTube TV, so you can cancel your service at any time.

Just be sure to cancel prior to the end of your monthly billing cycle to avoid being charged for the next month.

Wrap Up

YouTube TV is comparable to many of the other live-TV streaming services that are now available.

Its monthly price, while not the least expensive available among the streaming services, is on par with similarly featured plans.

The biggest benefit as I see it is the 21-day free trial that YouTube TV is currently offering.

For those who are new to live-TV streaming, it can take a bit of getting used to. And while a week can be enough to test the waters, three weeks is a much better trial period for seeing how everything works and deciding whether the service is right for you.

So, if you’re thinking of cutting the cord, or are just looking for a new live-TV streaming service, this 21-day free trial of YouTube TV just might be what you’re looking for.

You can sign-up for the 21-day free trial of YouTube TV at this link.

But act fast, the deal’s only good through Sunday, September 8, 2019.
