The Best Men’s Shaving Cream

I found this shaving cream by accident.  For decades I used the same kind of shaving cream…a gel that you can get in any supermarket or drug store…and was content except for the perpetually dry skin I would have after every shave.

Now, I’m not the type to spend much time (or money) on myself…I shower, shave, comb my hair and I’m done with my cleansing routine.  But the dry skin was getting to me.  So, based on reviews I read online, I ordered a men’s aftershave moisturizer.  I hated even ordering it because of the money and extra routine I’d have to add to my morning ritual, but I wanted to find something for that obnoxiously flaky skin.

Anybody at the “too much information” point yet?  I apologize – I’ll move on.

Well, I received my moisturizer, but I also received – by accident – a container of their shaving cream.  After deciding to not send the cream back, and instead give it a try, I was amazed at what a fantastic shaving experience this shaving cream provided.

Drum roll, please.  The name/maker of this product?  The Art of Shaving, shaving cream.

I can’t say enough about this product.  The cream itself is so moisturizing that I didn’t need the actual moisturizer. And even with a well-used razor blade, nicks and razor burn are almost non-existent.

I prefer the unscented cream, but there are scented varieties for those who enjoy an aroma that lingers after their shave.

It’s been a few years now since I started using this cream, and I won’t go back to any other shaving cream product.

It is a bit pricey at $25 a container, but I am frugal – surprise, surprise – with how much I use for each shave, and have had a container last me up to five months.  On a price per month basis, I’m a buyer.

You’ll likely see a number of reviews where the primary complaint relates to how quickly the product gets used up. It’s important to know, a small amount – covering just the tip of your index finger – normally will be sufficient to give a full lather and smooth shave. That amount gives me a very nice shaving experience while eliminating any wasted cream.

Of course, everyone’s needs and desires when it comes to a close, comfortable shave are different, so experiment for yourself to find the right amount.

I’m sure those who are hardcore frugalists will likely scoff at the price. I, however, always factor in the quality of a product, along with intangible factors, when deciding if something’s truly a deal. Price, alone, is not always a good indicator. And, when all is considered, I don’t hesitate in the least to call The Art of Shaving, shaving cream, a deal.

If you’re still on the fence because of the cost, click the Amazon link below where you’ll find a slightly better price on, what I consider, a really outstanding product.
