I used this offer. Charge came up on my Amex vendor as “BHN Giftcard mall” and happycards refuses to credit me the $15. I have NO control over the name the vendor uses to process charge. I used the link (happycards.com) in the AmEx offer to buy the card. Do I smell some sort of scam going on here?

Interesting and disturbing. I’ve never had an Amex Offer not work, especially when a link in the actual Offer is used to purchase. That was going to be my first question…did you buy from the Happy Cards site…obviously you did.
Maybe contact Happy Cards again and tell them about the Amex Offer not being honored as a result of how they coded with Amex? I’m sure they’d want to know there’s an issue since that not only looks bad for American Express, but Happy Cards, too. And then maybe a contact to Amex saying the same thing. You shouldn’t have to do all that work, but they shouldn’t offer the deal if a snafu’s going to cause it to be unusable.
Hopefully, they’ll have some sort of resolution for you.
