Reminder: Select Amazon Accounts Can Save $30 Off a $60 or More Purchase Thanks to Amex Promo

This post is a reminder that Amazon shoppers with a Membership Rewards earning American Express credit card linked to his/her Amazon account should check to see if this really nice savings deal is available to use.

Or, if you’ve gotten a Membership Rewards earning American Express card in the past months, to link it to your Amazon account in hopes of triggering this money saving deal.

This Amazon/American Express $30 off a $60 purchase promotion has been around for a while now, with various end dates, and then extensions…the latest extension has the promotion running through November 30, 2018.

It’s important to note, this deal can be very Your Mileage May Vary.  Not everyone will have this deal on their Amazon account.

And if you do, and have used this deal in the past, you likely won’t be able to use it again.  Although, it’s definitely worth a try.

Key points to this deal before you read through the directions below.

• You must have a Membership Rewards earning American Express card.  Cash back Amex cards, and co-branded cards such as Delta, Hilton, etc., will not work.
• That Membership Rewards Amex card must be linked to your Amazon account so that Membership Rewards points can be used to pay for Amazon purchases.
• Deal only applies to items shipped and sold by Amazon.  Who is selling and shipping is usually noted in the item’s “Add to Cart” box.

Thanks to the American Express Membership Rewards program, targeted individuals will be able to use as little as $0.01 of  your Amex Membership Rewards points and save $30 on an Amazon purchase of $60 or more.

How It Works

If you haven’t already, you need to link your American Express Membership Rewards earning credit card to your Amazon account.

Then check to see if you are one of the lucky recipients of this Amazon deal.  Click this link to see eligibility/activate the offer.

If you’re not, you’ll see this message:

Those lucky enough to have been targeted need to click the Activate button, and the promo deal will automatically be added to your account.

Add $60 or more to your Amazon cart – of eligible products, which is defined as products sold and shipped by Amazon.

When checking out, you need to use the American Express Membership Rewards earning credit card you linked to your Amazon account to pay.

And, you’ll need to use at least $0.01 of your available Membership Rewards points to trigger the Amex $30 discount.
