Simply add $10 or more to your DD Card via Masterpass between now and December 30, 2017, and you’ll get $10 automatically added to your DD Card to use any way you want.

You must load your DD Card via dunkindonuts.com or through the Dunkin’ Donuts App on your smartphone using Masterpass to pay.  And, unfortunately, this is a one-time use only offer.

Masterpass

Masterpass, for those who aren’t familiar, is one of a number of digital wallet systems that are becoming more mainstream.  Others that we’ve written about in the past include Visa Checkout and Chase Pay.

If you don’t already have a Masterpass account set up, you can do so here.

Like its sister program Visa Checkout, don’t let the name fool you, you can add any credit card to your Masterpass account to use as a payment method.  Mastercards are not the only cards able to be used on the platform.

Which means, if you have a Visa card that earns multiple points for dining, as an example, you can add it do your Masterpass account and select it as your payment method when using Masterpass at a business that may be considered a dining establishment.

Which, Dunkin’ Donuts is.  So, if you were to add a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve credit card to your Masterpass account and use it to check out for this Dunkin’/Masterpass promotion, you should earn 2x points on your DD Card load amount in addition to getting the free $10!

Wrap Up

When all you have to do to get a free $10 in Dunkin’ coffee and/or food is use Masterpass to load your Dunkin’ Card, it’s really a no-brainer.  I’m in.

We’re seeing more and more promotions that involve these digital wallet systems.  Obviously, it’s an incentive you get you using, and comfortable with, this “new” way of paying.  Which, actually, once you try it a time or two, you’ll find is very convenient.

Convenience aside, though, it’s the free money and additional points you can get when using these digital wallet systems that is the motivator right now.

Hopefully, these programs will continue offering great deals in an effort to differentiate themselves and incentivize usage, because while the payment systems win with new customers, we consumers win, too.
