Need Some Southwest Airlines Points for Your Next Vacation? The Latest Rapid Rewards Card Offers Might Help
|It was only a few months ago that Chase was offering 75,000 Rapid Rewards Points sign-up bonuses on all its Southwest Airlines personal credit cards. While a nice points bonus, it did come with a $5,000 minimum spend requirement (first three months)…for some, that can be a lot of spend.
Southwest 50,000 Point Sign-Up Bonus
Now, however, Chase is offering all three personal Southwest cards with a 50,000 Rapid Rewards sign-up bonus with a much more reasonable $1,000 minimum spend amount – within the first three months from card approval, of course.
So, if you’ve been wanting to add to your Southwest points balance, but didn’t take advantage of the 75,000 point bonus, or the earlier Companion Pass + 30,000 point bonus, here’s another chance.
Just keep in mind Chase’s rules surrounding approval and getting sign-up bonuses…”This product is available to you if you do not have a current Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months. This does not apply to Business Card and Employee Credit Card products.”
And, of course, Chase’s 5/24 rule that…for the most part…states if you’ve been approved for 5 or more cards from any bank within the past 24 months, you will not be approved for a new Chase credit card.

Companion Pass?
While not the ideal time to go for the Companion Pass, it’s not terrible either.
If you can get approved for a Chase Southwest Airlines business credit card, as well as one of the above personal card offers, you could get the required 125,000 Rapid Rewards points with the 80,000 point business card sign-up offer and $5,000 spend or get close with the 60,000 points/$3,000 spend business card offer.
Then you’d have the Companion Pass for the remainder of 2022, and all of 2023.
Most who wanted to jump on Southwest points via credit card sign-ups, probably have already done so this year. If you haven’t, these offers might be something to consider.
