Tax and Other Purchase Options

You will have to pay the tax on the full price of the phone at purchase. Full price is $239.99…amount of tax paid will be based on your specific location and tax rate.

You should also be able to upgrade an existing Verizon Wireless line, however, you won’t get the $5 per month Verizon credit.

The total monthly price for the phone would be $5.83. Tax would still be paid on the full price of the phone and upfront.

Deal Wrap Up

This is a pretty good deal if you’re looking for a decent phone and you want to stay with Verizon.

The Best Buy $100 instant discount provides a nice, no-hassle savings, and the Verizon $5 per month credit makes the phone incredibly inexpensive from a payment-plan perspective.

You can also pay $139.99 upfront (plus tax on the $239.99 amount) and activate with Verizon for no additional monthly phone payments.

Just be aware, while there’s no contract, Verizon recently introduced a requirement that a device purchased from Verizon is locked to Verizon for 60 days after activation.

So, if your goal is to buy the discounted Moto G7 and move it to a lower-priced MVNO, you’ll have to pay 2-months of Verizon service before that’s possible.

If your goal is to just get a deal-priced phone for a new Verizon line, this might be what you’re looking for.
