Low Income Households Can Now Get Amazon Prime for $5.99 Per Month

Amazon recently announced its Amazon Prime memberships will be available to low-income households for $5.99 per month.

To qualify for this reduced membership fee, households must currently have a valid Electronic Benefits Transfer card for any of the following government assistance programs:

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Other programs by state

Once eligibility is confirmed by providing a valid EBT number, individuals can sign up for the reduced priced Amazon Prime membership.

This membership provides all the benefits associated with the regularly priced Amazon Prime membership, including:

  • Free two-day shipping on eligible items
  • Streaming of movies and TV shows
  • On-demand music streaming
  • Discounts on select items (20% off diaper subscriptions through Amazon Family)
  • Free 2-hour delivery of Prime Now household items and essentials – where available
