Link Your Starbucks and Delta SkyMiles Accounts to Earn 1,000 SkyMiles with This Promotion
|Starbucks and Delta Air Lines have partnered for a while now. This latest promotion must be an attempt to boost enrollment numbers.
The promotion provides new enrollees (and maybe those who’ve already linked their accounts) 1,000 SkyMiles when two purchases at Starbucks are made within the first week from linking accounts.
It’s important to know what qualifies for those two purchases.
A qualifying purchase is defined as…”any purchase at a Participating Starbucks Store of food, beverage(s), and/or merchandise, excluding purchases of alcoholic beverages, Starbucks Card eGifts and physical Starbucks gift cards (“Starbucks Cards”). “
So no gift card buying to meet the 2 required purchases within the first week.
Link Your Accounts
To take advantage of this promotion, you must link your accounts/sign up via the DeltaStarbucks.com site between August 23, 2023, and September 12, 2023.
Once your Starbucks and Delta Sky Miles accounts are linked, you’ll earn 1 SkyMile for every $1 spent at Starbucks.
There will also be bonus earning opportunities dubbed Double Stars on Delta Travel Days, where bonus stars are earned when you’re traveling on Delta Air Lines. Obviously, they’re going after the road warriors who primarily fly Delta and grab coffee/food at the airports when traveling.
Worth It?
If you’re familiar with the Delta SkyMiles program you know 1,000 SkyMiles won’t do too much to get you to that next award redemption.
And unless you’re a major power drinker of Starbucks, the miles you earn from regular Starbucks purchases won’t amount to a lot, either.
That said, if you fly Delta somewhat regularly, and Starbucks is your coffeehouse of choice, there’s no reason not to link your accounts and earn the extra miles on purchases you’re going to make anyway.
If, however, you rarely visit Starbucks and you’re thinking the 1,000 SkyMiles will get you close to a free award flight…don’t bother with this promo.
