Not sure why they word the promo the way they do, and not just say you get a $45 gift card, but that’s what’s being offered.

The gift card must be picked up/purchased in a Sam’s Club store.

The offer is good for 60 days after your Sam’s Club membership activation.

A few term details –

With regard to the auto-renewal, that is easy to turn off once you have your online membership account set up.

And, “new members” are considered those who have not had a membership in the previous 6 months. You can always have a spouse, significant other, etc. sign-up for this deal and add you to their membership to avoid the 6 month restriction.

Stack Deals

Depending on when you read this, check your credit card offers section to see if any Sam’s Club membership statement credit offers are available. In the past, both Chase Offers and Amex Offers have had savings opportunities for Sam’s Club memberships.

As of mid April 2021, I’m not aware of any credit card offers, though.

Additionally, Dosh, the app-based cash back platform is partnering with Sam’s Club to offer cash back on online Sam’s Club purchases. Why Get a Sam’s Club Membership

Right now, we’re beginning to see inflation creep into food and personal care items pricing. Buying in bulk may be a way to curb some of the increased costs that are hitting your food and staples bills. Just be sure you can use the items you purchase so they don’t go to waste, defeating the purpose of buying in bulk.

That aside, here’s what I always say about a Sam’s Club membership.

If you don’t have a large family where buying 3-pound tubs of mayo and 10 pounds of chicken at a time is normal, you may not think a Sam’s Club membership is worth it.

And it may not be.

But, for my wife and me, I’ve found that you can find specific deals that will make the annual membership fee – even without an offer like this – worth paying.

Razor blades were a big one where we could get enough savings over a year to more than offset the membership fee.  That’s changed somewhat but is still possible depending on the blades purchased.

It wasn’t until a few years ago, though, that I found how valuable Sam’s Club Pharmacy pricing is.

The Sam’s Club Pharmacy pricing has changed somewhat since I first started taking advantage, but it’s still worth comparing when you’re looking for lower prescription drug pricing.

You do have to have a Sam’s Plus membership to take advantage of the prescription pricing.  A Plus membership costs $100 per year.

But, you can upgrade your Sam’s Club membership right at the pharmacy checkout the first time you purchase your prescription(s).  Meaning, the difference in price – $55 – will be tacked on to the prescription price.

Think about it, though, with this deal, you’re not actually paying the full $45 for the Sam’s membership when you factor in the $45 Instant Savings offer.

A Sam’s Club membership isn’t for everyone. But, if you think you can find some value in it, this sign-up deal isn’t too bad.
