Jersey Mike’s Changing Birthday Rewards to Points from Coupons Starting March 1, 2021
|Jersey Mike’s will be changing its free regular sub birthday reward from a coupon – which is how it has been handled – to points that will be automatically deposited into your MyMike’s account.
This is a positive change in that it provides a lot more flexibility when redeeming your birthday reward.
The previous system required you to print out the birthday reward coupon – or show it on your phone – to redeem on in-store orders.
Beginning March 1, 2021, and going forward, enough Shore Points (72 points) for a regular-sized sub will automatically be deposited into your MyMike’s account on or around the birthday date connected to the MyMike’s account.
Points, rather than a coupon, will allow you to use it on a small sub, a regular sub, or combine it with earned points to get a free giant sub.
The birthday reward points do not expire, so there’s no rush to use them if you want to build your points balance.
One downside to the change, is that the birthday coupon also included a free beverage.
The new system provides enough points for only a regular-sized sub. So, in that regard, it’s a slight downgrade of the birthday rewards program.
But, personally, the flexibility aspect outweighs the loss of the free beverage in my view.
Likely, this change is partially a result of the pandemic, where more orders have been made via the app for a quick, in-store pickup, rather than standing in line to order and waiting for your sub to be made.
Moving to a points reward allows for online/app ordering.
If you have a birthday reward coupon waiting to be used, like I do, it will remain valid until the end date which is printed on the coupon.
And, if you’re not yet a MyMike’s member, what are you waiting for? Use the link below to sign-up now and take advantage of the program’s benefits – which now includes an easier to use birthday reward.
Good job explaining this ! It doesn’t even tell you this when you’re trying to order online or via the app. There’s very few choices in chips & drink now anyway so ordering online or thru the app is an upgrade.
Melanie,
Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. Glad you found the post worthwhile. I’ve found app ordering much more convenient. At the store I frequent, I place an order and in 10 minutes it’s waiting on the pickup table for me to grab and go. Quick and easy and now an option for free birthday subs.
