Capital One and Google Pay
Capital One and Google Pay have teamed to offer a $25 statement credit to select Capital One credit card holders when the Capital One credit card and Google Pay are used to make a purchase.
Google Pay is one of many mobile wallet payment systems that are available to transform your smartphone into your method of payment. Once you set up a Google Pay account, you can add any number or credit cards to it that can be selected and used to pay at mobile payment terminals that accept Google Pay.
The promotions language seems to indicate that any U.S. issued Capital One consumer credit card is valid for the $25 statement credit.
There are, however, a few other hoops that must be jumped through to qualify. They include:
- (a) own an Android device that can run Google Pay (a “Qualified Device”);
- (b) have a qualifying Capital One credit card that is compatible with Google Pay and eligible for this Offer (“Qualifying Card”). Qualifying Cards include U.S.-issued Capital One consumer credit cards, and exclude partner cards, debit cards, and small business cards.
- (c) have not previously activated and added that Qualifying Card to Google Pay in the last year.
So, if you’re new to Google Pay and have an Android smartphone…and, of course, have a Capital One consumer credit card…you’ll likely be eligible for this $25 statement credit.
The promotion is currently active and will run through October 15, 2018. They do say, though, that the promotion can be canceled at any time, including when promotional funds run out.
