The $53.99 price is a slight increase from 2020's deal pricing on a 1-year subscription - either print or digital.  Especially so when considering the holiday specials that saw 1-year subscription pricing of $44.99!  But, unfortunately, you do have to expect some inflation from year to year.  Print and digital subscriptions are now $74.99 with the discount.
