American Express is encouraging cardholders to support America’s small businesses with its Shop Small promotion and Amex Offer.
Specifically, the Amex Offer provides a $5 statement credit when your enrolled American Express card is used to make a single purchase of $10 or more at select U.S. small businesses on the Shop Small Map or online directory.

You must enroll your Amex card by July 26, 2020, and shop by September 20, 2020.
There is a limit of 10 statement credits (for a total of $50) associated with this Offer.
If your purchase hits just at the $10 mark, then your effective savings is a significant 50%!
However, considering the current economic climate, especially for small businesses, rather than focusing on the savings amount, it’s more important to support the small businesses with as much purchasing as you can afford.
The $5 statement credits from American Express are just a nice incentive to do so.
